Topic: Hello.. :)

Hi everyone... thought I'd join the forum cos I love Joe <3 and it's good to find people who are obsessed as me! Not many people know about Joe in England, although I try to tell as many people as possible about him.. "go on his website.. go on his myspace.. youtube him!!" So anyway, this is a good way to channel my obsession big_smile So hello to you all!

That's what I was thinkin' !!  I was beginning to think that we'd never see Joe again here in The States, what with ALL of those SOLD out venues in the UK.  I remember what an incredible surge of new members we had during that time too.  Didn't the Queen join the Forum??  smile

A warm welcome to you rarr:)!!  I'm sure you'll find us to be a warm, friendly, stimulating bunch who share your enthusiasm, AND obsession for Mr. B.  Enjoy your time here!!

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Welcome to a fellow UK Joe obsessed personage

I got to see three of those 15 sold out shows so i'm a pretty happy bunny!

"Stellar" a word used by Joe Bonamassa (also apt as a description of the man himself cool)

Re: Hello.. :)

Welcome rarr:)..17!!! I love to see the young'ins come on board. No wonder you think Joe isn't well known in England. It is a struggle to get your contemporaries to appreciate GOOD music. Think of yourself as having a more mature musical palate than your friends. And, stand your ground. We will support you! Thanks for spreading the word.      Cathy

Re: Hello.. :)

Welcome to the forum rarr:). Cool name. wink I read your other posts about street team work...good job!! There are some artists a lot of people like...John Mayer, the White Stripes, etc...that are introducing blues to a whole new generation but aren't really labeled as such...you know, maybe it is the "pop" label in Europe that is doing the trick...we should try that in the US...lol. Well not really but...you know. smile post often

Re: Hello.. :)

Better late than never, welcome to the forum Rarr! I'd say Joe is getting better known here (England AND Scotland), but I guess its up to people like us to make him better known, which it looks like you are doing.

it's_all_about_apples, you make a good point, however unlike Mayer, White Stripes etc, Joe's albums are akways found in the blues (or worse speciality) section in the record stores. That seems to be the case with all artists on labels such as Provogue and Ruff, which is kind of frustrating as it means people are missing out on this kind of music.
However as far as chart positions go, if Joe's album is the tenth highest selling in one week, it will show as no. 10 in the "pop" chart as there is very little coverage of any specialist charts in this country (other than perhaps classical).
