Thanks Steve, I love both of those songs. How cool to see Steve in such a small venue, I've heard of him playing some small places, but my smallest venue was about 3700...I first saw him in Traffic. I'll be seeing him in June as Tom Petty's warm-up, I could easily flip-flop that lineup, that's how much I like Stevie!
hi angela just found my favourite, hope you enjoy it steve
hi angela yes it was cool.he only did 3 or 4 small venues and i was lucky one was near me.i will never forget it,its not very often you get to see a legend like him in such intimate surroundings.i read somewhere theres a dvd coming out of the MSG shows with clapton, heres a taster steve

Steve,
That Double Trouble gave me the tingles right down to my toes...it was totally awesome, as was Vodoo Chile, slow downed and bluesy...just sizzled...:P
Ok, back to Steve, nice write up in Rolling Stone...I'm thinking its the Clapton Factor that is getting him so much extra attention, sorta' like when Oprah announces a book that she recommends...RS provided this link. http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/stevewinwood
AND COME ON ERIC, SHOW JOE SOME LOVE!

Hey Steve,
I've long been a fan of Pearly Queen.
I bought a sequined suit from a pearly queen
And she could drink more wine than I'd ever seen
She had some gypsies' blood flowing through her feet...
Have you seen Dave Mason?
I read on the Clapton site that the tickets for the 19th went on sale today. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate a birthday. Eric is free that day tour wise, now wouldn't that make your birthday extra special!!! May seems to be a busy month for birthdays...my daughter turns 16 the day before yours and then there's Joe and jdawg's son and one of my sons...:)
An advance Happy Birthday to you.
hi angela thanks for the happy birthday wishes, the same goes to your daughter and son.going to try and get to see steve in london the only problem is whether they would let me have time off work,i suppose i could just have the time off but i,m already doing that for clapton and queen so i don,t think they would be to pleased.i noticed he is,nt doing any shows with tom petty from around may 6th to around the end of may,so hopefully he may do some more shows in england.no i have,nt seen dave mason he dose,nt do many shows in england unfortunately steve

Sirius radio #18 is doing a special on Steve Winwood this weekend.
http://www.sirius.com/thespectrum
Thanks Steve for the Dave clip.
I listened to some of the continuous coverage over the weekend, one interview w/Steve had me thinking of a thread on the forum about Joe's "pop" ranking in the UK. The interviewer asked Stevie about his music in the 80's, which American DJ's have labeled as "pop", and Steve answered that "pop" in the US is viewed in a negative way compared to what it means in the UK! Seems like a cultural divide...At the same time, Steve mentions that the main reason Dave Mason left Traffic was because Dave wanted to do more commercial stuff!

Tonight on Sirius 74 - Steve talks BLUES

hi angela sorry for not replying till now but i,ve been on nights.have you got the new album yet?i,ve had to order mine as the crappy record shops in my town have,nt got it in. steve
Hi Steve,
No worries, I talk alot of times when no one listens. The CD came with the poster, I played it once and the hubby confiscated it...can't do a full assessment yet. Dirty City seems to be the hit, there is a cool song written with Robert Johnson in mind that the Sirius DJ played. I did catch Steve on Good Morning America and decided to write to one of his next appearances with a question...I'm not sure these talk show hosts really have a good feel for the guy, he's not totally mainstream or anything...Steve will be on Letterman tonight and The View tomorrow with model Cindy Crawford, he'll be surrounded by women!!! Good Luck Steve!
