Topic: Language course thread

Hey everybody,

As promised here : http://www.jbonamassa.com/forum/viewtop … 38&p=4 I´m starting a language course thread now ... smile

We could start with

Hello
Goodbye
Thank you
You´re welcome
Sorry

in the different laguages - so all Dutch, Germans, Italians, Spaniards, Russians, ... please share your knowledge! smile

I´ll start with German:

Hallo / Guten Tag
Tschüss / Auf Wiedersehen
Danke
Bitte
Entschuldigung

Now it´s your turn to help all the Bonabuddies become multilingual big_smile !

Translation in Wisconsinese:

Hello......................Yah Hey! smile
Goodbye................See Yah, Yah Hey? sad
Thank you..............Tanks! smile
You´re welcome......Hey Yah, yous too! cool
Sorry......................Yah know, I'm a Dupa, Hey? sad

Roy... you gotta quit that buddy!!  Some of us Wisconsinites work very hard to educate ourselves and not sound like a Up-er (see I don't even know how to spell it - hay... you know what I mean - a person from the Upper Peninsula).

My Wisconsin translations would read:

Greetings friend
Love you
I'm grateful for you
My pleasure
"Sorry" - what's that?  Kidding - there is nothing that replaces "Sorry" smile

There, isn't that better Bluesman?  smile

Re: Language course thread

In Kansas:

Hello =  Hello
Goodbye = Goodbye
Thank You = Thank You
You're Welcome = You're Welcome
Sorry = Sorry

I guess that is why there are lots of telemarketing companies that are located in the Midwest.  I hear we have one of the most neutral English accents.

Oh, oh ... thanks Tripsy!

You know I said to my mum when we booked the flights: "Muuum, you know we´re going to LIVERPOOL, right?! You think we´ll understand just ONE DAMM THING of what people are trying to tell us there?!" But she was pretty confident that we´ll get on somehow lol

And after all I´ve got my dear Bonabuddies to help me out, right?! smile

Nah I been in a strange headspace as of late.  Been kinda reclusive all around.  Trying to organize my thoughts so I can focus on things that are important to me and get them accomplished.  The internet tends to be a distraction at times, so I've been staying away from it for a while.

I don't know, like I said, I've been in a weird headspace as of late.

Petty Officer Montificus, over and out.

That's a little futher North than us though, right Roy?  We never talk like that. wink When Craig was younger it took him forever to figure out that his farmer neighbor yelling "bag 'er up" actually meant to back the truck up.

You signature line freaked me out a little bit.  I had the same song with the exact altered lyrics running through my head!

"There is nothing to it.  You only have to hit the right notes at the right time and the instrument plays itself."---Johann Sebastian Bach
