Topic: The Joe I know....

The Joe I've met is not only the best guitar playing lifeform on this planet, but the hardest working. Period. No exceptions. The Joe I know puts more passion into his playing than anyone I've seen outside of Stevie Ray, and he's getting really close. The Joe I know loves his fans and loves to meet with him after shows. I know, I've seen him do it. The Joe I know plays guitar in a way that inspires me to play, even though I'll never reach his ability. The Joe I know has made people shiver with excitement after seeing him play. The Joe I know has touched my life, the way he approaches his music, which is the "I'm gonna do it my way" approach, has made me very proud to say, "Hell yes, I love the blues!" instead of almost being ashamed of it. The Joe I know is easy to promote, just pop in Live At Rockpalast and you have instant fans. The Joe I know puts any guitar player to shame, but does it without showing off. The Joe I know also helped me realize that there are indeed some people in this world that you can put up on a pedestal without fear of having them disappoint you. So many times you hear of people feeling let down when they meet their hero because their hero wasn't nice to them or something of that nature. I am so thankfully that I can honestly say that when I met my hero, he was so kind and cool, and not only that, but knew me and knew enough of what I do to make me feel special. So Joe, thank you for all you've done for me, from soul to soul.

Re: The Joe I know....

Your writing caused me to reflect back (even though it hasn't been that long ago) about how I even came to know this Joe guys existence.  Call it fate, call it destiny, call it magical,call it mystical.....standing in Barnes & Noble listening to someone else's CD on the headphones (I can't recall which artist it was, would like to thank them though....let's see would have to be somebody or some group starting with B or possibly C....) and saw Blues Deluxe sitting there..intrigued by the picture on the cover....stuck it under the scanner...and said to my 16yr. old standing next to me with a big grin on my face.."Holy Buckets, where has this guy been all my life?"....I was hooked instantly....bought it and A New Day Yesterday Live immediately.  And I can say truthfully, I was "hooked" immediately on his musical genius.  I thought this guy is in a class all his own...still feel that way...now back to the story....the next couple of days I was looking thru the Datebook (Des Moines publication on what's happening in the area) and there was Joe's name....listed to perform at The Surf....I said to my buddies at work...this is unbelievable....here's the guy I just discovered and he's coming to Iowa.....I call it fate,destiny, magical, and mystical.......I call myself lucky.....and I call myself lucky twice because I have discovered all of the rest of you, too.  I really enjoy reading what you all have to say...the genuiness with kindness & humor thrown in....thanks to all of you.....

Re: The Joe I know....

Amen y'all!  Hehe.  After I saw him in concert, my parents and I went with the crowd waiting for Joe to come out.  When he did, he was just nice as can be to all the fans asking for his autograph or asking for a picture with him.  I kinda hung back for some stupid reason (dangit, I could smack myself!), but what I observed was a genuinely nice guy, caring enough about his fans, and the fact that they're the ones who helped him get where he is, to take time to meet them, when I'm sure he's exhausted after playing like he does for an hour and a half or so.  I sure hope I get another opportunity to meet him someday, shake his hand, and tell him what an awesome musician and cool guy I think he is.  cool

THE JOE I KNOW:

The Joe I know hangs out at guitar shops and talks about gear with fans. The Joe I know called up a buddy of mine on my cell phone to wish a friend who couldn't attend "a happy birthday."  The Joe I know gave a couple fanatic kids cd's and signatures when they were not allowed into an "over 21 venue." The Joe I know is more down to earth with his fans than any other musical act I know.

The Joe I know deserves fame and fortune comparable to Elvis and the Beetles - because his heart and talent is that big. Alas, the Joe I know is gracious enough to play for anyone who is lucky enough to hear him, and humble enough to meet and greet everyone.

Re: The Joe I know....

Hallo David and Annelies,

I just got an email from Henrik that his debut cd  called The Blues  can be bought at   www.amazon.de  . If you find that spot you see that the custumors who bought it give the cd maximum stars 5.
You will also see that there is an item that says;

People who bought this cd also bought...............Joe Bonamassa's    You and me.

Very familiar kind of music. Only 23 years old he is.

On the site  www. blues-germany.de there is a review of the cd and it is top. Joe is named in the review too. It's in the german language, but believe me very good review.

I saw him on Saturday the first time, found him very good and sent him an email to tell him that. Like with Joe 3 years ago: when I see good music I want to tell as many people as possible about it.  So all Bonamaas fans do me and Henrik a favor: Listen and buy it please.
If you like Joe , you will like Henrik too. I'm sure.
