Topic: International Songwriting Competition Announces 2007 Blues Winner
As you may already know, the International Songwriting Competition
(ISC) has announced its 2007 winners. I wanted to pass along some more
detailed information to you about the winners in our Blues category,
which you can find in the press release below. We are very pleased to
tell you that out of over 15,000 total entries, the Blues winners
include Jack de Keyzer (Toronto, ON, Canada) for his song "That's The
Only Time" (First Place), Robin Rogers and Tony Rogers (Charlotte, NC,
USA) for their song "Color-Blind Angel" (Second Place), and Peter
David Harper (Perth, WA, Australia) for his song "Just What You're
Looking For" (Third Place).
The winners were chosen by a prestigious panel of celebrity and
industry judges including Tom Waits; Kenny Wayne Shepherd; John
Mayall; Bruce Iglauer (Founder/President, Alligator Records); Monte
Lipman (President, Universal Records); Charlie Walk (President, Epic
Records); and many others. More than $150,000 in cash and prizes is
shared among the 59 winners, including an overall Grand Prize of
$25,000 (US) cash -- the largest cash grand prize of any songwriting
competition in the world - and over $30,000 in merchandise and services.
It is extremely important to ISC that the accomplishments of these
Blues songwriters be recognized, and we sincerely hope that you will
help us to accomplish this goal by promoting this press release and
helping to spread the word about their international achievements.
I have included a press release listing the Blues winners below. If
