I realized it's only been 5 months since I saw their first show, but I'm amazed at how much these three have grown, professionally, in just a short time. The set was just 1 hr. since they were the opening act, but they made the most of every minute. The crowd responded immediately even though the house wasn't full till about half way through their set, by that point the whole place was rockin'. One of the horn players from The Dirty Dozen Brass Band turned to me and said, "Damn, we gotta follow these guys?" They unleashed a new tune called Tear Down These Walls which was A+ stuff. Davy absolutely blistered It'll All Come Around, the live version of this song puts the CD version to shame and the CD cut is awesome. I rolled in early to help out where needed and had plenty of time to chat with Davy, Ross, & Adam. Davy is connected at the hip with his newest toy, a 1920's National Steel Tyrolian he picked up recently at Gruhns in Nashville. He's not yet playin' it in the set, but will be soon. It's one of the sweetest playing steel's I've seen to date. He also said his favorite blue strat that he plays, ('62 re-issue for you gear heads) will soon have a new look since his sister is a professional artist it will soon have a custom paint job. It was nice to meet Keytothehighway from the forum and also noticed familiar faces from previous gigs. The lads are building a faithful SF following. They send their heartfelt thanks to all the Joe fans for our support. Get out and see them when you get the chance, it's all killer, no filler.
I Got Slammed,

Nice meeting and talking to you too J Dawg. Very cool that you helped em out and also cool that you got to hang with them for a bit.
They have grown professionally since i last saw them in November. And i think Adam (bass) might have grown a little taller too! They're still sprouting!
It wasn't very full at the beginning and I was a lil worried, but I looked around about 1/2 way through and the place was full, everyone on the floor, having a great time! The choices in their set were a good combination of songs to show their range of styles and keep the crowd going. Thanks J Dawg for mentioning the name of the new one, "Tear Down These Walls" - can't wait to hear more of this, hopefully on a new CD soon.
They did make the most of their set, but it will be nice if they can come back as headliners soon so they can play a lil longer. I asked about their next gig here and they said 3 months and sounded like a concert in GG Park? I dont remember exactly what Davy said, but if thats the case, they'll get a lot wider exposure but probably not much play time.
After their set, all 3 hung out in the crowd, signed things, talked with me and others and got up front in the crowd for a bit and boogied to the next band. Cool!! They were very gracious and fun.
I brought up the idea of playing with Joe AGAIN, which I also did in November, and the response seemed like something they'd love to do but dont think they've reached that level yet. As a member of the audience, I think they are very very worthy of it and hope Joe's team can make that can happen and give us all a serious double shot of smokin' 21st century blues!!
*Edit"* Got Davy's guitar pic and they all 3 signed one of Adam's drumsticks for me, which they did in November so now I have a matching pair!
