Re: What's your amp history?

Cool thread idea.

1980 - 1990:  Fender "75" amp (75 watt tube amp, 15" speaker)
1990-1992:  Fender Princeton (bought used)
1992-1992:  ADA rack preamp, rack amp, upright 2x12 cab
1993 - 2006:  Fender Blues Deluxe (usually paired in stereo with a Tech21 TM60)
2006 - present:  Fender Deluxe Reverb RI
2007 - present:  Budda Superdrive 30 2x12.

I had been only gigging the DRRI and using the SD30 in my studio only, but I've just started using both of them together at shows in sort of a (scaled down) Joe-type scenario.  I put them next to each other behind a plexiglass baffle and crank 'em, switching between one, the other or both with a Lehle 1@3.  It's a great combination.

Re: What's your amp history?

Early 60's Fender Twin

Ampeg Reverb Rocket
Line6 Flex II
Mesa Boogie Caliber 22

   "Current"

Re: What's your amp history?

Okay. Joe's list made me laugh quite a lot @ awe. So many amps.

Ive had.. *counts*... three amps!

A Vox Valvetronix AD50
Fender Blues Jr.
Solton head (It sounds a bit like some kind of SLP-clone, just... Better)

Currently Im in the market for a Category 5 JB '68 'Plexi' amp.

Re: What's your amp history?

I started with a 90's Pro Series Evil Twin
Sold it for a vox modeling amp. biggest mistake ever.

Bought another Late 90's Proseries Evil Twin.

I pair the Twin with a Vox AC30.  I get beautiful lead tones with the two amps blended.

If you mix those amps fairly clean with some Fulltone overdrive it is tone central.

Re: What's your amp history?

I started on a tiny Epiphone amp, had a Line 6 Spider as a spare amp, had a Danelectro Honey Tone mini amp....

currently using: '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue, Fender Hot Rod Deluxe

desire: Marshall, Two-Rock Signature Reverb, Polytone Mini-Brute

Re: What's your amp history?

A short list for me.

I have a crap SS "practice amp" in about 1981, then nothing until 2001, when I got back into guitar.
Then I started with a Roland Cube 30, which is an okay place to start, but tubes soon beckoned.
I never sell anything, so htese are all keepers.
Hughes and Kettner Triamp Mk 2 with quad
Mesa Dual Rectifier with 212 recto cab
Mesa Lonestar Classic 212
Mesa Mk IIC+
Bad Cat Hot Cat 30+ 212 cab

Now i'm pretty happy, all bases covered.
I'm on the lookout for a nice Marshall Jubilee head , but I'm not holding my breath.

Music is in the spaces, so is life.

Re: What's your amp history?

Hi,

My amp history would be.....

A sessionette solid state combo...can't remember model....but it did the job....back in 90's..
Vox AC15 RI.....still own to this day...great amp..
Fender 'the twin'...........from 97........great clean amp...distortion channel was pants.....
Marshall JCM900 el34 equipt...4100 dual reverb head 1/2 stack......loved that amp.....
Marshall Bluesbreaker combo.....RI....
Marshall AVT50 1x12 combo....(for home noodling)...
Marshall DSL 100 head and 4x12 straight faced 1960 cab......(the classic channel on this amp loves a boost unit.....with deep switch engaged etc)

One thing I would say is that JCM900's and DSL 100's....love to be boosted on the crunch channels.....

Cheers

Martin

Les Paul 95 Gibson standard, Marshall DSL 100, 4x12 straight faced B cab,Vox AC15TBXRI, Carl Martin Hot 'n' Drive boost, Deluxe Memoryman delay, Electric Mistress, Mango amps treble Booster(Dallas Rangemaster clone), Boss GE7
