Topic: Scales

Hey guys, just wanna say hi to you all, cause im new tho the fourm. but i have a question for ya. What are the main scales that joe uses. His blues jazz style has always baffled me. but its good to be in a place with so many guitar players.
Thanks

Re: Scales

He's all over the place - mostly his stuff is based off minor pentatonic, but he throws a ton of different notes in there (a lot of major 2nds for instance)... he uses notes from all different scales - once you put all the possible scales you can play in a key together, you can play pretty much any note, as long as you end on the right one... then agian there is that old adage that you can play whatever notes you want as long as they're fast enough smile

You know... You can put things on them, and see how much they weigh?

What did you expect to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wild beasts sweeping majestically over the fields?

Re: Scales

haha. I wasn't thinking bout that. Ha.
