Topic: Bruce Cameron's "Midnight Daydream" a lost classic

Here's an album which too few have heard, but it's one more than worth checking out. The album is Bruce Cameron's "Midnight Daydream". Bruce was a fantastic Hendrix inspired guitarist from North Carolina who managed to have an amazing array of artists appear on this his debut album released in 1999.

Notable musicians playing on the album include Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cox and Buddy Miles (Jimi Hendrix), Jack Bruce(Cream), Neal Smith and Michael Bruce ( The Original Alice Cooper Group), Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep), Bunk Gardner (Frank Zappa) and Harvey Dalton Arnold (The Outlaws). The material on the album runs the gamut from bluesy Hendrix/Cream styled rockers to more early Alice Cooper based material, psychedelia, even moving into Tom Petty territory.  There was a big build up in the media prior to the release date, with press conferences, coverage in the official Hendrix 'Experience Hendrix' magazine etc. Unfortunately, tragically about a month after release, Cameron passed away, but that doesn't detract from the music contained on the album.

All this wouldn't probably mean much if you can't hear the album, and the good news is, that even though it's out of print, one can download all the tracks legally on Bruce's web site at this location :

Keith, I do believe you've out done yourself with this jem.  Hendrix, Marino (older Frank) all rolled up in one. And I'm just playing the first/title track.  WOW this is the real deal. Jimi fans jump all over this.  Right click on each song/save target as.

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

It's been one of my favorites Jeff since it was released. What's even more tragic is what could have been. But, enjoy what is there. A varied album, I'd recommend it to anyone who's into the heavier sounds of the late 60's, early 70's. Great stereo panned effects as well, which is something you rarely hear anymore.

Headphone worthy. Definately got that psychedelic sound. Reminds me alot of vintage Frank Marino.
