Topic: Hi from Ohio

Hi all,

I've perused this forum many times in the past year or so but finally joined up yesterday to pose a question over in the gear section.  I'm a huge fan of Joe's playing and have seen him twice in the Central Ohio area--most recently last June at our "LC," the "Lifestyle Communities Pavilion."  (Dumb name, cool place.)  I was positively blown away by that last show--really loved the quartet aspect of the band.

I've been in the Columbus area since coming to college here in the mid-80s at Capital University's Conservatory of Music.  I've been playing in bands around this area (and Western P.A. where I'm originally from) since I was 14, which is now 26 years ago.  I support my habit (buying guitars of course) by being an attorney.  By day I work for the Public Defender's office where I work in the Juvenile Unit.  I represent delinquent, abused and neglected children.

I gig many times per month with a couple different bands:  primarily a cover band called Sharp Circle and a jazz trio called 456.  I also released a CD of all original music this past December which I sell at shows, from my website and on iTunes.  You can check out any of this if you have a minute by stopping by my site:  www.petechimbidis.com

Gear wise?  I don't have a much as Joe, but I love it just as much.  For my album and gigs it's a Custom Shop '56 Strat, customized Baja Tele or Les Paul Standard through my Budda SD30 and/or a Fender Deluxe Reverb (RI).

Okay, enough blathering.  Thanks again to those who helped answer my question in the other thread and I look forward to seeing you around.  Great forum.

P.S.--Libby, yes, I went to Law School at O.S.U.... so... Go Bucks back atcha!  smile

Hi pc..Sorry I'm a bit late. Thanks for coming out into the light. That's a pretty tough job you have. Good thing you play music and have such a creative outlet. We'll drag more info out of you about your tastes and concert memories. We're nosy that way! Welcome to Joe World!  Cathy

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

Re: Hi from Ohio

You see Pete?  Didn't I tell you you'd get a really warm welcome over here on the Intro pages?  So.....law school at O.S.U., huh?  I have an attorney cousin who is an alum and practices in Columbus.  I have other cousins in the music biz there.  I'll send you an email.

Also, although my blood runs scarlet and gray because of my many familial ties to The Ohio State University, I will give Roy the teeniest of nods for his beloved Badgers, simply because that is where my grandfather began his football career, and my Dad began his college career.  All that aside..............................."Go Bucks"!!

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Howdy pc, always good to hear from a Buckeye. I'm a native myself, but have been in the SF Bay Area most of my life, but still live and die with the Bucks, it was deeply imbedded in me as a kid. Welcome aboard.
