Topic: Zeppelin tour back on, with a twist?

It now appears that the long rumored, long awaited and much wished for Led Zeppelin reunion is now back on again, with a bizarre twist. In a soon to be published interview with Classic Rock Magazine conducted by Geoff Barton, guitar legend and Rock And Roll Hall Of famer Jimmy Page has confirmed that indeed Led Zeppelin will be going out on the road this summer, commencing a world tour which will see the rock legends hit the U.S., Europe and yes, even Kashmir. However, the band's choice of drummers to replace the late John Bonham is both astounding and baffling. For sitting behind the kit for this historic event will be none other than, and I hope you're sitting down when reading this...Ringo Starr!

Yes, the soon to be 68 years young former Beatles drummer has signed on for this massive undertaking with the stipulation that he'll be allowed to perform a mid concert set consisting of his early 70's hits such as "It Don't Come Easy," "Back Off Boogaloo," "You're Sixteen," "Photograph" and "The No No Song" albeit presented in a more "Zeppelin" type style.

In the interview, when queried about how the rest of the band came to the decision to pick Starr over Jason Bonham, Page responded with "What happened was we all sat down via a conference call several months back, right after the O2 show, and the one name that came up, one that had the personality and talent needed to make the band gel again as a cohesive unit, was Ringo. After convening for several rehearsals, Robert, John and I came to the conclusion that it was working, and now we've decided to go full force with it. We were amazed at how well it all worked out, actually. I think people will be as well when they hear how well Ringo is able to replicate John's drumming in a live setting. It's incredible that we never considered him before to be quite honest. It's an honour to have such a living legend along with us, and we're quite excited".
