Topic: Baseball, Anyone?

I'm thrilled that baseball season is once again upon us. It's one of the only things I'll watch from spring to fall.

I'm a long time Yankee fan, since the mid 70's but also support the Mets.

Anyone else happy about the season opener?

BTW I think I'm getting senile.  I'm watching the Yankee game and severe confusion set in.  When did the Yankees get Ventura back?  I thought Bernie Williams was gone???

Then I realized there's a rain delay, I'm watching an old game.  yikes  lol

I was watching the Brewer/Cubs game - they are also in a rain delay - it will
probably turn into a snow delay soon...  not a good way to start the season!

In Ca. it runs from Jan. 1st through Dec. 31st. we take advantage when the window of oppurtunity is open.

Just found out The Tribe pulled out a 10-8 victory over the Chisox on a three run double in the 8th by Casey Blake from Indianola, Iowa, that sounds familiar, anybody know where that is?

Jaci; from mil blog

"5:21 p.m. -- In his first inning as a Brewer, closer Eric Gagne has done the unthinkable: he's made fans long for the days of Derrick Turnbow.

Gagne just gave up a game-tying three-run homer to Kosuke Fukudome in the bottom of the ninth inning. That negated a stirring three-run rally by the Brewers in the top of the inning."

sure glad GagME is with you guys now -

Boston fans wanted to hang him last year

When Gagne gave up that homer my husband slammed the TV off - a couple
hours later we found out they won - but who pitched the last inning anyone know?

You're a brave man Mr G
I wouldn't go to the US until the guys have forgotten this comment !!

Made me smile though.
I was a pretty good rounders player at school.

Re: Baseball, Anyone?

Riske closed the game for the brewers.  Gagne is the stereotypical (is that a word?)player that made his million because of steroids and is now broken down and over paid. Speaking of over paid......Barry Zito looking like a $126 million BUST! Baseball,THE MASTERS,Indy 500,Kentucky Derby and NHL playoffs (Yea all 122 of us be watching) IT'S SPRING!!!

Re: Baseball, Anyone?

Zito was taking plenty of heat here last year and the fans turned the heat on high starting this morning on the sportstalk station in SF. I thought that was the lamest thing the Giants could have done before he even put on a uniform. He hasn't fooled anybody with his 83 mph fastball in 4 years, except the Giants front office.
