Hi George, I'm very happy for you on all counts. You must be as giddy as a kipper!

"...as giddy as a kipper!..." wouldn't have been the first expression to come into my mind Tripsy, but I have to say that I like it!

Let's see, Holland, England....many countries still needed..Maybe I should start posting the flags around my deck like the U.N.. As Forum Elders we will establish guidelines for proper behavior...yea, right!..But it's going to be a great time and I know it will put a smile on Joe's face to see Amsterhammer there. I guess this means I have to clean my house..59days..hope I can get it done by then. Cathy
You mean proper guidelines for behaviour? Come into my parlor, said the... Just playing with ya. Clean that house...run those flags up.

Hey Bigjeff, if she has a rainbow flag up when I come (born in San Francisco)....I'll have to teach her a lesson

Way to stay focused Sue!!!! I can't begin to imagine what it is like as a newbie, being exposed to all the off-topics strange gyrations we sometimes perform here. I'm so glad that we haven't scared you off and that you were still able to post some pure and simple best wishes for George while making your way thru all of our craziness!!
I'm scratching my head now, trying to remember, are you Geoff's friend??
Libby
And all the kind wishes and positive thoughts are really, truly appreciated! This place has become part of my new family!
In a couple of hours it'll only be 56 days.
And now it's only seven weeks tomorrow that I'll be on a plane, which is uh, like 49 days. I can't believe how quickly the last week has gone, it's positively flown by.
It just so happens that several of my oldest and dearest friends are here this weekend, which even further increases my general well being.
One lady whom I'll be seeing tomorrow is my oldest friend in the world that I'm still in touch with - I've known her since 1971. Knowing someone for 37 years may be less exceptional for those of you who have lived in one place for most or all of your lives, but it's very unusual for someone who has moved around as much as I have.
So, how long have you known your 'oldest friend' for? Anyone beat 37 years?
Yes I can George,
You met him after the show in Den Haag, my blond friend Rudi. he's a Bonafan too, we go together as much as possible and we are friends as long as \I can remember.
We are both 54 years old and we are cousins adnd our dads were brothers and close friends too.
Every Sunday , birthdays etc. we visited eachother and playey together, must have been 2 , 3 years old when we started our friendship. It's so long ago I can't evev remember the beginning!!
So shall we say 52 years, and we stayed very close friends all the time till now!
We are there for eachother in good and in bad times.
It's a TREASURE to have a friend like that.
Andre Wittebroek
Two weeks already gone since I started counting, 'only' 45 more to go and right now they're just flying by.
Bring it ON!!!!!!!!!

How's that for my first quote Proff. George. Now, to keep it under general topics I will say that after touchdown in the U.S.A. the 15 day countdown to our Joe Show begins!!!! or is it 14???? The Student, Cathy
Bob King, Carmine Rojas & Jeff Jones...the terrible trio for 35 years. Damn.

EDITZ: Not counting my cousin or my siblings, of course.

Sorry George, can´t beat your 37 years or even Andre´s 52 years (!) .... but I know my very best friend Susi for 20 years and we´re both only 22 - so that´s pretty long also
She´s the one on the pictures from Berlin - she´s just the best friend in the world.
Eva
P.S.: George, countdown-upadate?!

That's very good Eva! My oldest son is nearly 32 and he's still in regular touch with his best friend from the first creche they attended when they were both around 18 months old, which is about as long (porportionately) as you and your friend.
Let me see, if it was 45 days yesterday then it must be......hmm.......44 days today!
LOOK EVERYBODY!!!!!!
Granny Cath made her first ever quote a few posts further up - let's all give her the recognition this achievement deserves!!!
Well done Cathy.

Well, I was never too good at maths George - so you better tell me.
Cathy - loads of R-E-S-P-E-C-T for your very first quote!
Eva
There he goes again with his numbers yada yada .........:D
Only 38 days now............
Holy ****, how time can just whizz by when the weather improves and you're feeling so happy and buzzing about life in general and the passage of time in particular, like there's only 31 nights left now, down from 59 - virtually half-way - and everybody knows that the home stretch always goes faster.
(Younger readers may feel sick at this gushing, that's ok)
