yep.  he died young andreplaced several guitarists and even though he did a good job there people don't really warm up to replacements as greats.  not to mention his solo material is phenomenal

His LP -Teaser- was and still is a killer!!

I saw him live in Auckland  New Zealand in 1974 . It was an open air show, he played with Deep Purple. Blackmore was just out for the first time and he was his stand-in.
Very good guitarplayer. A few years later he died from alcohol in combination with heroine. He was only in his mid twenties.

Hope this what I remember is all correct, long time ago.
