I was sure hoping the Drake Bulldogs would pull it off....almost.....but almost doesn't count.

Yeah, me too PLJ. I picked 'em. Guess who picked San Diego to upset UConn? that pick will help me immensely. My local pick St. Mary's fell too.

Hi J Dawg,
Even though I root for the Big East, that UConn upset was a great game, keep in mind Nova beat UConn earlier in the season. Last night Villanova came alive in the second half to beat Clemson, so only 1 of my 3 teams survived the first round. Another great game I saw was the almost Duke upset by Belmont Thursday night, what a game!! Belmont played their hearts out, a virtually unknown, they actually almost won, could of if the last play went differently. The camera kept going to Vince Gill in the stands, he was cheering whole heartedly for Belmont. I googled Vince's name and found out he didn't go there but is good friend's with the coach, etc. JDawg- you were rooting for Mount St. Mary's or was it gamblin' odds? The last wedding I went to the couple met there and they will be at my house for dinner on Easter...tough game to win. I can't remember, were you born in Ohio or just like Ohio teams?

I was referring to St. Mary's in Moraga, Ca. I have many friends who went there and dated an old girlfriend for the 4 years she attended there. watched many basketball games there. About Ohio, I was born and raised there till I was 12 and was transplanted at that point to Walnut Creek, Ca., East Bay, like Moraga. The sports team thing was already imbedded in me before I moved west, but my favorites out here are the SF Giants and the Cal Bears. Minor dilemma today, Cal plays Ohio St. in the NIT tourney, I'll be happy/sad either way. Vince is one of my favorites, did you know he was in Pure Prairie League after Craig Fuller dashed to Canada to avoid the draft?
