Looks like Mr. McGarvey and co. made it back from Austin in one piece(barely!) Seems there was a little incident with an 18 wheeler, which  ran a red light going 80 and took out his dad's truck, which Ryan was driving...seriously they're lucky to be alive...

In much better news, an editor from Guitar Player Magazine came to their show and has a video clip of them playing "Texas Special" up on a live from SXSW site, which can be seen at this location :

Thanks, as usual, for all the info Keith..There are moments when his riffs sound exactly like Joe...Scary stuff..glad they were OK..Guardian angels from Planet Blues/Rock are with them. Would love to see him and BDS and Scarlett Runner all together some place..Cathy   Very cool that he and BDS may jam at their joint show on 4/5...

Definitely right about that Cathy. Someone's looking out for them, that's for sure! If you check the photo on Ryan's blog, it's amazing that no one was seriously hurt or worse. From the blog entry :

"The tow truck driver and sheriff showed us that if we had been hit three inches more towards the cab both of our legs would have been ripped off... And if we had been one millisecond quicker, the light had changed that much quicker/we had driven just that much faster through the light- we would have both been completely ripped out of the car."
