Topic: Another UK Fan

Hi Everyone, I'm a long time Joe fan and forum reader and just thought that it's about time I added my name to the growing list of Joe's fans. I live in Bournemouth in the UK.

Here are the shows that I've been lucky enough to attend so far.

2005 May 18th   Mr Kyps, Poole England.   Joe's first ever UK show.
2006 Feb 14th    Mr Kyps, Poole England
2006 Sep 30th   Cheese & Grain, Frome England
2007 Mar 29th    Shepherds Bush Empire, London, England
2007 Jul 31st      Mr Kyps, Poole England
2007 Aug 3rd     Mr Kyps, Poole England
2008 Feb 16th    Cheese & Grain, Frome England

I read a number of other groups fan forums, but I have to say that like everything else linked to Joe, you folks are the best and to have Joe actively participate makes this a true Community of like minded music fans.

Welcome to the group Gary, it's a great place to be, and there are a lot of genuinely good people in here. I've only been here a few weeks now and have only seen the great man once so far, so you're a veritable veteran compared to me. I've had a great time in here so far, and I'm sure you will too!!

Welcome Gary..Thanks for jumping in. That is an impressive list of shows. Now that you're here, we would like to hear about those shows. Which was your favorite? How were you wise enough to see Joe on his 1st British trip? Yes, I know..You just got here and already you have to work!  Don't run off scared!   Cathy

Hi Gary and a big welcome to the forum, especially as we're neighbours! 

You and I have been to more or less the same Joe gigs, so I bet we've seen each other several times!  You're right about this forum: it's full of really interesting, fun and knowledgeable folk.  I'll look out for you at the next round of UK gigs.  In the meantime enjoy the forum and post often.

Hi Cathy, I hadn't heard of Joe at all before but it was on the recomendation from the staff at Mr Kyps , a great small local venue, that my friend and I went that night. I think that we both had what seems to be the normal reaction that people have the first time they see Joe, nearly 2 hours spent with jaws open with comments like awesome, wow, etc. I think that the show I enjoyed most was again at Mr Kyps on July 31st 2007, mainly because Joe seemed more relaxed than I have seem him, lots of chat aand jokes between songs,  also the power for the whole stage went about 3 mins into So Many Roads and the band had to leave stage for about 5 mins while it was fixed and when they came back on stage they picked up from the very note the power went. Truly Awesome.

Hi Lyn, will have to keep an eye out for you at the next show and if the Mr Kyps MB is true, that should be sometime in November , so fingers crossed.

Welcome, this is a great forum! I only recently became a JB fan and joined, not normally being a forum type, but the folks here are great and there is a wealth of JB goodies to get stuck into.

Someone let me have a recording of the Mr Kyps Feb 06 gig... it's excellent. big_smile

Yes, I've been sent one of those, love it when Joe says he has some classy merchandising and CDs that Pete has for sale at the back - and I'll even come and sign em for yer after this lot!! Doesn't say that any more!!!!
