Topic: Newton Faulkner

This guy was just featured on nationwide GMTV in the UK. Pretty good guitar skills and interesting voice. Trawled around some youtube offerings and he seems pretty adaptable too. Check him out for yourself.

Shame that Joe and the boys can't seem to get on national TV like this in the UK - he would go down a storm!

Re: Newton Faulkner

I quite like this guy. He seems quite a bit different from most of the dross that's being churned up at the moment, and like you siad Geoff he is pretty adaptable. Not heard his album yet, but I do like his cover of Massive Attack's - Teardrop.

Certainly worth a listen.

Re: Newton Faulkner

Newton Faulkner was playing the same night in Glasgow as Joe and I travelled back on a bus with some of his fans that evening. It did sadden me though that he was playing a larger venue than Joe, but has not been around nearly as long.
I also heard Newton's middle name is Battenberg smile lol

Re: Newton Faulkner

You're right greenose. I think it's up to us and Joe's management now to seek out the larger better venues. I know that will grate a bit with the hard core fans, as they (we) would love to have him all to ourselves but the reality is, Joe's presence is far greater now than it's ever been and lets face it some of the larger venues often have better sound / accoustics, which will make Joe sound even better. It's my feeling that Joe can make the step up to larger venues, but........ The show itself needs to make that extra leap to provide that wider appeal. And by that I mean better lighting, coreographed stage setting etc. Joe doesn't need me to tell him what that next step is, you can bet your last dollar he will nurture the emotions he has for smaller venues, but onwards and upwards is the way to go in my opinion
