Topic: Oosterpoort Groningen show

Tonight in the Oosterpoort in Groningen 1500 (!) people enjoyed a great show. Same setlist as the last shows including "Your funeral, my trial". I think Joe and the band enjoyed themselves a lot. Joe was very pleased that so many people showed up. He told that, 4 years ago, his first show in Groningen was at the bluesfestival.
They were the last band that evening as "special guests" and played till 02.00 am.
Two years ago I was also at his concert in Groningen. He then played on the little stage. And now in front of 1500 peoples...
Impressive guitarwork as usual!  Great voice too!
Friday I will go to the gig in Hardenberg with my son (10 years old).
It "ll be the third time he will see Joe Bonamassa. He's looking forward to it!

Greetings,

Re: Oosterpoort Groningen show

Greetings Wiebe. Sounds like you're having a great time with your son. Does he play guitar too?

Re: Oosterpoort Groningen show

Hi Geoff,
Yes, he is. He started about a year ago and is still struggling...
But at least their is a little hope for the future of bluesmusic in Holland.....
Fridaynight will be very inspiring for him.
We"ll try to stand in front of Joe so he can see exactly how guitarplaying is supposed to be!?
Greetings,
Wiebe

Re: Oosterpoort Groningen show

Thanks Wiebe..I can visualize your son standing there staring at Joe in amazement. That makes me smile! Thanks for sharing your story and come back to tell us about Friday's show. Cathy

Re: Oosterpoort Groningen show

That's amazing Wiebe. I have an old friend called Wiebe de Boer! big_smile

Thanks for the input and enjoy Hardenberg. Look out for a guy in his 50's with an old Joe t-shirt on and wearing glasses - that will be our Andre.

RIP Iron Man

Rock On and keep the Faith

Re: Oosterpoort Groningen show

Hope to meet you in Hardenberg Wiebe. Yes, I'll wear the Always on the Road Tshirt. I hope to meet Joe and band before the show , have some presents for them, so I will be there very early.

See you,

Andre Wittebroek.
