Re: Holland - Roll call, tickets, whatever

Amsterhammer, when I read you got a ticket to go to this concert it brought tears to my eyes. I'm so happy for you! I can honestly say that Joe, his band, management and fans are the finest people in the world. Post a review when you get the chance and have a wonderful time!

Re: Holland - Roll call, tickets, whatever

George,  I am so delighted for you ? The Bonangels are at work.  Have fun and we will look forward to your review!  Patty

Re: Holland - Roll call, tickets, whatever

Aw shucks, y'all.

Thanks for all the kind and good vibes. I was always catching one show, but I so wanted to be at the last one in Den Haag too because the entire Dutch posse (and then some) is likely to be present for one huge get-together there.

For sure, I'll turn my aged and rusty hand at two show reviews for y'all, and no haikus.

(Hey, that was already 300! If I keep going at this rate I can go mental by Christmas.) big_smile

The final countdown begins...........come on Dutch fans, let's hear from you! Who will be attending where.....let's discuss a meeting place for Den Haag (I know nothing about DH) or for other venues.

Kind of gagging with anticipation already. big_smile

(look, no haiku)

Than the day after in Tivoli-Utrecht, Heerhugowaard and saturday Den Haag offcourse.I've been to den haag a couple of times but really can't tell you where we should meet or something like that. I'll ignore that Geoff, yeah.

I can't recall that it was this quiet on the Dutch gig thread last October. Where the hell is everybody?

Can you find out a good place to meet from your friend who lives there? Will you borrow your wife's mobile? big_smile If so, send me the number please.

I expect I'll run into Marianne on Thursday, but I was wondering where the other Dutchies who were at the Paradiso will be attending this week.

Re: Holland - Roll call, tickets, whatever

We can meet at cafe  DE ZWARTE RUITER on the GROTE MARKT. The Grote Markt is a square that is at the Prinsegracht where the venue Paard van Troje is. The venue is to the left at the end of de Prinsegracht, I guess 400 meters.
We try to be there at 1900.

If you search on Google Earth:

Type Roads ;in Dutch wegen and you see the Prinsegracht. Go to right where the road makes a bend down  there you see above a square with chairs: de zwarte Ruiter is on the righthand side.
When you type in Interesting places;; in Dutch interessante plekjes. de zwarte ruiter comes on.

Try all please who go and let me know if you can't find it.

Andre Wittebroek.

We'll try and be there Andre.  We're staying not too far from the Paard van Troje (at least it doesnt look that far on a map).  What time do the doors open?

George - I'm sooooo delighted that you got a ticket.  That's a cause for celebration (cue for another 80s song reference).

See you all on Saturday!  Does anyone know what the weather forecast is?  I know that's a daft question but it's a girl thing (sensible shoes or high heels for example).

Not half as delighted as I am Lyn, but thank you. big_smile

Weather...hmmm....just got home absolutely sodding drenched to the bone wet. It was drizzling when I set off and just kept raining harder and harder on the way home...it's not a great distance so I just put my head down and went for it. Bah.

Forecast for Saturday is around 10 degrees, dropping to around 5 at night, with a 60% chance of rain. Bring a brolly.

I will (sadly) only be attending the Heerhugowaard show, unless someone has one or two spares for Den Haag, in which case 'me first, pretty please'!

Can't wait! cool

My wife has got the flue so I have one ticket that I won't use. Send me a mail if you want it.

Re: Holland - Roll call, tickets, whatever

Thanks for the offer Harry (and welcome!) but I'm sorted out now. Am asking a few friends and will get back to you before the end of the day.

I'm sure Andre will add to Marianne's take on the Utrecht show when he gets out of school this afternoon.

Edit - will take the ticket for another Joe first-timer!! Mail coming. Am bringing two Bonavirgins Saturday!

I would like to apologize for this senior moment. I mis-remembered in thinking that Andre was going to the Utrecht show. He's not seeing Joe till Friday.

My group of four is going tomorrow, I'll be taking a mini-disc recorder and hoping that the result of my first taping attempt will not be a complete disaster.

I gotta tell y'all, I'm getting kinda excited.........

Re: Holland - Roll call, tickets, whatever

Amsterhammer so glad you got the ticket you were after to see Joe.  Can I also say how sorry I was to read that you lost your wife last year.  Maybe like me 'Asking around for You' is a very poignant song with words that mean so much.  I lost my grandson on 11th March last year.  He was only 21 months old and it was so very sudden.  He is the 'Angel on my Shoulder'

Enjoy your concerts and don't forget to let us all know how Joe and the Boys are.

Rock on and keep the faith!!

Re: Holland - Roll call, tickets, whatever

I don't mean to invade your joy folks but I must say to Sue..That is a horror I can not even allow into my thoughts. It tears my heart apart. I have sympathy for you sounds so trivial, but know I do! He is indeed your own little angel. Keep the Faith and let the magic of Joe help!!  Cathy
