Topic: Newcastle with Michael

As has been posted elswhere, this was Michaels fiftieth Joe gig, so there is a (very poor) picture of him with the bottle of Sloe Gin Joe presented to him at the end of the set. Sorry the pictures are not up to my usual standard, but I was so nervous about taking my SLR into the venue because of the many warnings I took my Canon Ixus 75 along instead, it doesn't have exposure or shutter controls, so it was a bit let's wait and see. Hey ho you get what you get I suppose

This was, without doubt, the best I've seen Joe and the boys, for Michael to give it a 10 out of 10 says it all. Just a little note to say thanks to Michael for hanging with me and Sue for the last few days, it's been a blast - "Friends for life" Michael said - You bet mate!

Note the England Soccer Shirt Joe's wearing bye the way - Michael got four personalised for Joe, Rick, Bogie and Carmine and would you believe it, Joe wore his for the finale of the show - and I got the pick that Joe used for "Woke up Dreaming" thrown to me - what a night!

We went for celebratory dinner after the show and Michael pigged out, the pretty young lady is my partner Sue's daughter, who joined us at Aspers Casino for the celebrations - she ended up nicking half his dinner

FIFTY SHOWS FOR MICHAEL!!???  Are you kidding me??  I had NOT read that anywhere else.  That is AMAZING!!!

I'm so glad that you all were able to get so many more Joe shows under your belts during this latest tour.  How wonderful.

Again, I for one certainly appreciate your efforts to document your adventures, and, even more so, your williness to share them with the hungry masses!!!

Joe spoke with both Michael and myself that evening on the tour bus. Michael was told that the RAH is definately on and that Joe's Mum and Dad are coming over for it. Not only that, but there's definately going to be a DVD made of the event! Roy, you are more than welcome to meet up and I'm sure I echo that from Batman too. It will be one hell of a Bonamasterpiece that show! 4th May I'm told the date is - I'm going to have to fit in some business calls in London the start of that week!!LOL

Well Geoff, if those are substandard, I'm not showing you my pics! I really like the group shot. Carmine looks pretty "street" in his cap!! Michael likes his food so Sue's daughter is lucky he didn't bite her hand off! lol  Thanks for the story and the pics. I'm so excited about that little news-nugget!! On DVD too, that's an event I aint gonna miss, damn skippy!! Hope to see some of you US Bonamaniacs over here for that one, will be an extremely special evening for all involved I'm sure.

Great pics Geoff, really atmospheric and as usual conveying so much of the emotion.

It must have been one heck of a special night for you all... oh and looking at the size of that dinner, it could have fed 4 not just 2! wink
