Topic: Jeff Healey RIP

a sad night indeed here in Canada with news of Jeff's passing. He never ever complained about the cards he was dealt, he just played his heart out with class and courage. A real hero of mine, he will be missed.....

Re: Jeff Healey RIP

Sad news, indeed, to hear that his wonderful voice has fallen silent & his agile fingers, still.  I've been a fan since Hell to Pay, but never got to one of his shows.  May he rest in peace.

I am stunned. He's been fighting the good fight for so long...I just read something about him and Ruff records..so, so sad..At least he made it in time to jam with Rory on his 60th..Regards to his family..R.I.P. indeed...Cathy

Re: Jeff Healey RIP

Sad indeed, he was a unique individual and a hellaciuos player. I was lucky enough to see him live once as the opener for I think it was Bonnie Raitt. He rocked the house and finished to a standing ovation. It's been a rough week in the music world. I clicked on Other Topics and said oh no! out loud the second I saw the news.

Re: Jeff Healey RIP

I got to see him for the first and only time a little over a year ago. I was lucky to get to talk to him for a moment. He was a class act.

Re: Jeff Healey RIP

Caught a concert of his in OKC years ago. During the show he joked about his appearance in a bad move (Road House) that he thought you might be able to catch @ 3AM on HBO. That was a number of years ago if that movie was still running on pay movie channels.

Great show. I especially liked it when he would really get into playing and jump out of his chair during a solo. It looked as if he was going to lose his footing and tumble from the stage. At the end of a couple different songs someone directed him back to his chair.

Re: Jeff Healey RIP

A tragic loss to the music world. He canceled his Omaha gig last summer due to his health. That would have been the only chance I'd ever have to witness his talent live.
Angel Eyes was always a fav.  Rock-On Jeff......

Re: Jeff Healey RIP

I always found Jeff Healey both engaging and inspirational to watch and listen to, plus he seemed like a genuinely nice person.  I once saw him open for The Allman Brothers, at Merriweather in the early to mid 90s.  Gone way too young, what a shame. sad

Re: Jeff Healey RIP

This is very sad indeed. He was a great guitarist and singer. 41 years old.....way too young to pass away.
