Cool deal. Hope he does a version of "We Just Disagree" that last longer than the 2-1/2 or 3 minutes that it does on the record...that song always felt too short

Re: dave mason & the new riders tonight

"We Just Disagree" I believe was written by a friend of mine who has since
passed away - Jimmy Krueger - from Manitowoc, WI.  Anyone know for sure?

Re: dave mason & the new riders tonight

I didn't know he had died Jaci. The first time I saw Dave live was the tour that Krueger played guitar on that was recorded for his live album. Bad Company opened for them. My albums are packed away can't check right now. Try www.allmusic.com

The last time I saw Dave was in a duo with Jim Capaldi who is also gone. It's good to here Dave is touring again with a band.

When Jim moved back here he played locally in a band with his brother - it must be
at least 15 years already that he died.  He started out in a band called Grease - the
best music to ever come out of this little town!

Opps - I forgot about Bryan Lee - he is from here also.

Re: dave mason & the new riders tonight

I saw him in Tampa last spring and he did a great rendition of "We just disagree", (a theme song for a break up in my past.) It was beautiful. He and his bass player had guitars I don't recognize..Does anyone know what they play?        Cathy   (Gretch? sp?)

Re: dave mason & the new riders tonight

Well Sis, those are RKS guitars and Dave is a co-founder of the company. If you go to his website there's a link in there to RKS. Daves been doing a few shows a year in the Bay Area for a number of years. He's played at the B.R. Cohn charity in Sonoma a number of times and I saw him about three years ago and he sounded and played great.

Re: dave mason & the new riders tonight

Sent you an email Joe.  Looks like it was a great show from the setlist.  Thanks.

P.S.  I don't know what even made me think of this, I guess old times maybe:

Did you ever see Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen?  (Mama hated diesels, real bad...I guess it had somethin'. to do with dad.... lol )  "Hot Licks, Cold Steel, & Other Trucker Favorites" that's the one I had...forgot all about the ole Commander until this thread.....still don't know why Dave Mason uprooted this memory.....)

Re: dave mason & the new riders tonight

Patty, the ol' Commander is touring these days so google him up and see if he's playin' near you. His lead guitar player Bill Kirchen who wrote Hot Rod Lincoln with the Commander is doin' his own thing too. They both play at The Palms Playhouse in Winters, Ca. where I'm headed in a few hrs. to catch Shred's and my favorite tribute band Skynnyn Lynyrd who know Joe from playing with him at the Redwood Run up north in Piercy each summer.
