Topic: The Tab Book

Hey everybody,

Just thought I´d ask how everybody is doing with the Tab Book so far ... has anyone played the whole thing yet?! If yes, you have my major admiration! lol
This is all so many endless levels above my ability that I just figured out some of the slower intros (like the very first part of "Blues deluxe"), but nevertheless ... even playing some little Joe-notes makes me happy smile.

Is there any song you like to play most ?! Or one that you just can´t figure out .... ?

Do you have any other Tab Books that can be recommended ?

Yo,

The tab book is definately a wonderful item to have. I've bene working my way through it slowly but surely, concetrating on Blues Deluxe, such a great song and fun to play.

I was lucky enough to get my Tab book signed by the whole band at the Cheese and Grain. Looks great, definately one to hold on to. Thanks again guys!

Same here, been busy, but have gotten the intros of Blues Deluxe, and If Heartaches were Nickels working pretty good.
Also doin the solo of So It's Like That, I like that riff

I'm starting to think I have every Tab Book ever written, book case full of them.
Wouldn't be able to tell by my playing :-) but I have a lot fun

Gary Moore has quite a few, and you can pick up some great blues stuff
I do a bit of the Hendrix, Clapton, SRV stuff....and the "Signature Licks" stuff
is enought to keep you busy

I like Clapton, cuz there are "Easy Tab" books are there that basically
play to the lyrics of the song. The others play the intros, and solos which
is all I really care about, but if you mix the 2, it's cool to play an entire song

I like the Eagles for the same reason

Finally got a copy of this yesterday. It's a great tab book that's for sure. However, my ability is severely lacking to;-

a) read music and

b) play the guitar,

but the fun is in the trying I guess and the odd lick here and there is quite gratifying. I just wish I was right-handed, so that it might be a touch easier to pick up!! My brain hurts....too....much information........:mad:

Really want to be able to play If Heartaches were Nickels, so that's goal numero uno!!

I finally got my copy last week.  I already knew how to play four or five of the songs listed, but that's okay because the remaining ones, especially Faux Mantini, Revenge of the 10 Gallon Hat and Woke Up Dreaming are going to kick my butt!

The interview by John Stix about the songs included in the book was insightful.  I thought the whole book was very well put together--and I own quite a library myself.

I think you would enjoy this book or any of the other Blues play alongs.  They are easy to play and come with backing tracks which can be slowed down on your PC to play along with.  There is another Blues one and a Blues Rock one too.  Check them out!
