Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do
I think Fire and Water by Free would be cool Bonamized.

Honestly, I think I'd rather have Joe do more originals than think about what covers he should do. But that's just me. Buzzkill, I know...

Nah, that isn't just you. I feel the same way, but this thread is a pipedream anyhow, so what the hell.
I have a couple he could do...original songs that is.

Something by the band Spirit would be cool.
Mountain Side by Chris Whitley.
Pete FUNNY!
That's southern rock, I've long held a theory about there being more countrified folks in south Jersey than there was in GA. Maybe I should include the northern half in my estimation.

Gimme Back My Wig by Hound Dog Taylor would be an obvious one (but already done by SRV, Walter Trout and Soledad Brothers).
Brown Sugar by ZZ Top would be pretty cool as would Country Mile by Rory Gallagher.
The Hunter by Albert King and as recorded by Free would be great.
Two Headed Woman by Junior Wells...
Brown Sugar by ZZ Top
Just heard that song for the first time in a very long time the other day and it brought back great memories. Love it.
Remember "Season of the Witch"-no, not the Donovan version but the Bloomfield, Kooper and Stills version on "Super Sessions"? Between Joe and Rick's keyboards what a time they could have with that one!
Sandy
Not an appropriate subject matter for Joe...

Is this the same brown sugar the Stones were talking about?

Nope. It's off of ZZ Top's First Album. Written by Mr. Billy Gibbons himself.
Not a new cover request, but I'd love to hear Joe play "Tea For One" live. Has he ever done this one?
Phil
Thanks, Jane. One day, one day.

Yep, Wooders, this song is quite amazing live! I've heard it twice now, and Jane is correct.... once before the album came out, and once last summer...both times in Indy, both times with Doug on vocals. Let me see if I have a pic for you..... I think there's one somewhere in Joe's photo gallery from the IndyRibfest Sept. 07.
edited to add: page 3 of the photo gallery...Indy Ribfest...I think those last 6 or 7 are mine, including 2 of Doug w/ the band.
I haven't got the strength to work my way through all 20 pages, so apologies in advance if my humble suggestions have already been mentioned.
I would love, that's LOVE to hear Joe do Voodoo Chile!
And how about The Kink's Superman? (great guitar solo opportunity there too)
Red House(Hendrix)
Stormy Monday(Tbone Walker)
While My Guitar Gently weeps(Harrison) .... Frampton has dont a massive version that makes my hair stand up .... Joe would do it better
