Re: NORTH MISSISSIPPI ALLSTARS

Must chime in here. Had Hernando since the day it came out. Very interesting directions for NMAS. They still hold their classic sound but added lots of heavier stuff, including the songwriting.

I like it alot, even though I'm a huge fan of their oldstyle Delta blues mix. It's worth a listen, but you also need to check out Shake Hands with Shorty, 51 Phantom, and Electric Blue Watermelon to get an idea of the range that NMAS has.

They're touring right now, before Luther picks up with The Black Crowes. Definitely a band you must see live.

(and about the new CD, actually I love it!!!!)

Just helping to spread the word about going to see GOOD bands and GOOD live music as often as possible!!!

Got to run monitors for them at Wakarusa Festival last summer.  Definitely one of the highlights of the festival.

I wouldn't know. It is released here in the UK on Monday 25th so I've bought it preorder on Amazon.  Looking forward to hearing it. I love all their albums (except Polaris)

They are a band I want to see live but they have not been known for touring much over this side of the pond. Last time they only went to London and Dublin - neither on my doorstep.

Hoping for a Black Crowes/NMA European tour later this year!
