Topic: Allman Brothers, Beacon Theatre, NY

Hey Joe Beacon.  I just read in another thread that you are going to attend 15 of the Allman Brothers shows in May at the Beacon in New York city.  Will you be going on Friday night, May 23rd?  If so, my husband and I are coming into New York for the weekend to go to that show.  Would you want to meet before the show for a drink?  If you would like to let me know.  Can't wait to see the Allman Brothers with Derek and Warren.  I am sooo psyched!!  Looking forward to being back in N.Y. again.  Take care.

yep i will be there every night same seat for 15 nights lol . we can meet if you like for a drink i go to a place around the corner from the beacon called the p&g nice little bar to hang and they always have abb tunes playing . there is also the west side brewery i go to also they make there own beers i drink the blondes there and they have food also . anyway i will be there and we can meet . do you know where your seats are ? .......joe

very good i eat that stuff that week while i watched the giants road to victory i have all the games on dvd so i sat back and really enjoyed the dog and sausage when i watched them smack around the packers . my big thrill really was watching them smack around dallas i hate that team so much . other wise very good stuff i will order some more from that place in the near future . if i give them you name are they going does that get me a discount or does that get me the dirty sausage ............................joe

If you like really cool gig shirts, theirs are killer!...I got last years...the one with the truck in front of the theater...got a couple of theres, too cool to wear alot...dont want them end up being a rag in the garage when I'm wrenching on the cars...or a painters shirt special!

Hi jb,

I'm so envious of your 15 night stint seeing ABB. It's a great shame they never seem to tour outside NY, or even the US, nowadays. In 1972 I queued and bought tickets for both their gigs at the Rainbow Theatre in London, then they cancelled. I was heartbroken, or as we say on this side of the pond "gutted".

I then had to wait until 1974 for their next European tour, when I finally saw them at Knebworth festival. They weren't quite dots, but the view at the Rainbow would have been better.

I still have the "1974 European Tour" badge as well as some great memories.
