Topic: Bridge to Better Days

Hi Guys,

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Joe has added a part of the Deep Purple track Perfect Strangers to BTBD on this tour?

Yeah he definately has, it fits in perfectly betwwen the solo and the last verse. It was funny though because i hadn't heard the deep purple before, so one day when i was listneing to a deep purple album, perfect strangers came on and i was like, wait a minute, that Joe Bonamassa! I then remembered that Perfect strangers was released quite a bit before that and Joe had just nicely borrowed that lick.

Hmm, the part I'm talking about that is from Perfect strangers was added in last tour in the summer i believe as its in the vid in the North Sea Jazz Fest. In the studio version of Perfect Strangers its the bit that starts at 2:24

Unless Paulm is talking about something different to that one.

It's been in the live version for quite a while now, maybe even since Carmine and Rick joined the band. You can hear it on the JB-TV version from North Sea Jazz.

Re: Bridge to Better Days

The first time I heard this, (and I believe the first time he started playing it like this) was around May 07. We saw one of the first shows with Carmine and Rick in a small club in San Luis Obispo.

And the song is definitely "Perfect Strangers" from Deep Purple (great song).
