Topic: HELLO!!!! Im Amanda!

I just decided to join the forum as i am seeing Joe on Sunday the 24th of February! Woohoo!!! So so so excited! I just hope the weather is a little warmer on sunday than today! I have liked Joe for only about 2 years (i think...)... I went to my local independant store and said- give me something I'll love! And he handed me So, Its Like That. The next day i went back and said i had to have more and he only had one cd left of his- which was "A New Day Yesterday" live. And i loved it- I fell in love! Unfortunaetly due to lack of money i just listen online to songs because i cant afford to buy the albums! Maybe one day, i can complete my little collection. Awesome guitarist- nice change from Kenny Wayne Shepherd anyway... (Dont shoot!)

You are in good company here and though it's freezing outside it's always warm and cosy on the Joe Bonamassa forum.  As you may have read, lots of us have already seen Joe perform on this current tour and ... well, all I can say is you are gonna love it.  Enjoy and do post a review!

Ha ha some people would shoot me for my taste in music... I just love it all so much you know? I of course listen to Joe, and KWS i like Eric Clapton and BB King, I love Aerosmith (mostly pre 2000) Lynryd Skynyrd, ac/dc, and The Black Crowes. I do however live for alternative  and jangly pop rock... ie Gin Blossoms, Collective Soul, Matchbox 20, Toad the Wet Sprocket and Dishwalla stuff like that just defines me. But then i still love other stuff like HIM and Uniklubi etc. It depends on my mood- but one thing is for sure... Going to see bands live is always just an incredible experience. I wanted to see Joe last year but never got round to it, and in fact Im stil rather broke so had to barter with friends- i traded goods for the cost of a ticket! Im just so excited- i know that in some respects it will be hard for me to compare Joe with my very first concert (i was 15 and saw Aerosmith at the old Wembley) and it blew me away being a concert virgin and all... But he is just such an awesome guitarist- and all you guys re such awesome people! I will be telling y'all about the experience! big_smile

Hello Amanda, If it werent for the KWS forum I probably would not have discovered Joe so long ago. A lady named "Oreo" from a few towns away told me to check Joe out when he came to town. I cant remember ever being so emotionally touched by a song before until this certain part in the middle of MOUNTAIN TIME where the whole band comes together in an awesome sounding way (If you can get a copy of it someday,go to 36:00 on the Rockpalast dvd and listen to the next 20 seconds and you will see what I am talking about) Been hooked ever since.   DARRIN

Amanda welcome from Holland where we are waiting for Joe to come. Only 3 weeks and then.......seeing him for the 12th time!

Enjoy your show and you will never forget, he's better than Aerosmith believe me. Saw them in Mijmegen 12 years back but only liked Steve Perry, is that the right name??

Thanks! Everyone seems great here! And yes, i traded 3 seasons of Dawsons Creek for my ticket... It wil be worth it, i know!

Hey Amanda, if you subscribe to emusic in the Uk there you can get 25 free downloads and get 2 weeks to cancel your account. Some of Joe's stuff is on there - Sloe Gin, Had To Cry Today, A New Day Yesterday Live and also a live EP from Shephards Bush 2007 - which includes the songs Walk In My Shadow, Blues Deluxe, Mountain Time, Bridge To Better Days and Just Got Paid.

Personally I prefer to buy the ablums, but the live session from Shephards Bush is definately worth getting!

Hi Amanda, can't waitfor your review of the Sheffield gig. Get right at the front, just to the right of Joe's mic, and you won't get your ears damaged by the volume. Joe and Carmine very considerately shield their speakers and mic them through the PA so that they and the front line fans don't get their ears ruined by over the top volume levels. What you WILL get is pure sound from the PA, an excellent view of one of the finest guitarists on the planet and a memorythat you will treasure for the rest of your life. Joe will not be playing small venues in the UKafter this tour, so kick backand wallow in what will be your best Joe Bonababtism! Enjoy and report back here Amanda!
