If you could move that date to late June during Wimbeldon I might get the Mrs. to agree to a trip across the pond.

Re: Shepherds Bush Gig

The way things are moving the RAH may not be big enough! I really hope it comes off, though. The only downside, of course, is the distance we'll be from Joe. To see his finger work is half the fun. How about the first five rows being reserved for forum contributors? wink

I've had Friday's show going round and round in my head all weekend. As others have said, I think it must be the altitude that was responsible for the deterioration in the sound quality. Down at the front by the stage the sound was fine and not too loud. I think I'll enjoy the next time I see Joe even more as I was so looking forward to Friday all week that I think I was too tired to get the max from Joe's wondeful playing. Pathetic, I know, for someone of my age who's seen Clapton, Page & Beck several times but I knew that Joe is something special and probably the best blues/rock guitarist anywhere at the moment. The anticipation was tangible. For me there are no duff or filler tracks on a Joe Bonamassa CD.

With all this adulation for Joe, which there was plenty of on Friday, I must mention Joe's band who are the perfect foil for Joe's guitar playing. Bogie on the drums is pretty hot.

Re: Shepherds Bush Gig

Start saving, Patty!

Roundtrip airfare from Iowa to London in May - looks like it's about $700 per person this year

Hotel - sounds like a Bonamassa fan might put you up for a few nights, or find a package deal at a hotel + airfare - some possibilities $1500 per person for seven days, less if you bunk with a Joe fan 3 nights and then stay at a hotel 4 nights

Figure $3000 if you stay in the whole time in hotel and fly two people over, you'll also need to stay for at least a week to make this trip really special (and allow time to get over jetlag prior to the Joe concert).

Ticket to RAH - $75 each?

Seeing Joe Bonamassa & Co. playing the Royal Albert Hall in London:  PRICELESS!

Thinking seriously about this, unconfirmed or not, we just need to be ready ... in case ... !

Hey,

That's less than a month (by one day) from my birthday. Sounds like a great birthday present for me. And since "The One Who Must Be Obeyed" never buys me a present, don't you think I'm owed just this one? After all, it's just a hop, skip and a plane ride across the Big Pond. Patty, how about you and I split the hotel bill? I've got dibs on the couch! big_smile

Roy

Well Roy, if this really big show (now if I would have said that Ed Sullivan style it would have read "really big shoe"  lol   ) happens it will be just 4 days before the big guys 31st birthday.  One of us has to win the lottery Roy.

I'll bake the cake, you bring the party hats.

Hey Rhonda,
I knew you'd be coming along on this trip, too.  wink  I don't know, the stowaway part could be fun.....stewardesses (is that the plural?) serving Bonacherry jello shots........ and slumber party at Michael's......Roy grab your things, we're headed to Michael's now.
                                                                                     Patty
P.S.  I think the severe winter weather we keep having (yes, 6 to 7 more inches today, plus ice, plus 50 mile hr gusts)  has made me "loonier" than usual.  (No comment now Rhonda wink )

I'll be at the RAH too, if I get the tichets in time!

Would be very nice to see as many forummembers as possible!!! Let's work on it when it is confirmed. maybe micheal can arrange some tickets for us??

Andr Wittebrok.

Re: Shepherds Bush Gig

I'm keeping fingers, legs, toes crossed for this.  Don't care how much it's gonna cost.  I reckon he could even do 2 nights and still fill out the place.  Oh my ...

Re: Shepherds Bush Gig

From a purely selfish point of view ... I'd ALWAYS prefer to see Mr B close up and personal - like last night at The Robin - bit of an underground car park, I know, but it sure does feel like the blues...

Unconfirmed!!!  But whetting our appetite for sure.  That would be the ultimate venue to see you perform.  Just think of all the great ones that have played there, like Led Zepellin, the Cream, EC and Joe would be joining their company.  We would definately have to make that trip.  It would a nice 4 year anniversary when we saw Joe in London there last.  Joe that is  big step up from Jack Beards place!!!

Music is good for the Soul...

It's just too bad heartaches aren't nickels....

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Joe has to do two dates at the RAH after he appears at the Cornbury festival in July as he'll pick up a few thousand more fans at that gig.

Like Topsy, it just growed and growed. smile
