Topic: Guys, I don't ask y'all for much....

But here am I propositioning. My dad has a bbq restaurant, Rooster's Bar-B-Q in Harrison (kinda northwestern part of the state) and we're now able to sell our Rooster's Hawg Sauce, Rusty's Homemade Salsa, t-shirts, and our dry rub seasoning. I would really appreciate it if some of you could take a look around our online store, see if something catches your eye, and make a purchase. Just click on the Order Our Sauce! link. I basically told him I'd call in all my Bonabuddies to help with our new excursion into the online abyss. So take a look at our web site, see what you think, and if you're in Harrison, stop by and tell Rusty hey.

Here's our web site: www.roostersbar-b-q.com

Re: Guys, I don't ask y'all for much....

One last thing: I wouldn't even bother to be doing this if this stuff was not amazing. Dad has had this sauce recipe for over 15 years, and before he perfected the recipe he had worked on it for about 5 years (I know, I was there for the experiments), which is cool considering the restaurant itself has only been around for about 3 years. This is some seriously good stuff. The salsa is amazing as well. I stand behind completely behind what we put up that it is of the highest quality. That, and it lasts forever! Because it is of an extremely low acidic content. In fact, when he got it approved by the UofA, they said they had never seen a bbq sauce that low in acidic content.

OK, gonna ask this question for my BBQ friend Bogie Bowles......

What is the base for your sauce? (i.e. vinegar, tomato, mustard, etc)

Omigod Phil...nice quote. Thanks for my chuckle of the day! Very apropos, considering pitchers and catchers just reported for spring training.

Tomato. Though me and dad are currently working on a mustard version. It needs some work. If I recall correctly, Bogie's from North Carolina, so I would assume that he digs the vinegar sauce right?

I'll have to give this a try sometime.  BBQ is truely passion of mine.  I tend to gravitate towards the hotter sauces.  I have some favorite KC BBQ sauce recipes that are tough to beat.  Just the perfect blend of sweet and hot.  *Droool*

I do enjoy a good mustard based sauce as well though.

Re: Guys, I don't ask y'all for much....

Hey Ragamuffin thanks a bunch!!! Dad will check for orders once a day, so he'll probably be getting right to it tomorrow.

Montius, as far as our sauce is concerned, it's a sweet sauce, but there's just a hair kick of spice at the end. Nothing really hot, but it's there. We make a hot version of it, but it's not up for sale on the web site yet.

Well you let me know when the hot stuff is available and I'll give 'er a try.

I do like the sweet KC style BBQ sauces, but usually gravitate towards the ones that have lots of kick and spice as well as sweet and tangy.

Of course, I think I am biased to KC BBQ....just a bit....but a good sauce is a good sauce.  Doesn't matter where it's from.

If you ask me, Ribs are the core of what is BBQ.  Ribs are where it's at.
