Topic: Hendrix

I heard you mention on "Paul Jones" that you wondered how loud Hendrix played. I saw him at the Saville Theatre London and it was the quality of his playing which was amazing , the loudness was irrelevant and as I remember not loud at all by current standards( thank goodness). I also saw Joe at Mr Kyp's Poole u.k. and was totally impressed, in fact I think that there is something there just as good as Hendrix and I'm really pleased that the music was not too loud to enjoy. I was so impressed in fact that during a rather boring lesson on D.N.A. I took the opportunity to project " Blazing Hell " pointing out to the students that the group is so together they must share the same D.N.A. THere are a "Hell" of a lot of people who want to see Joe at Mr Kyp's again or an even bigger venue in Poole/Bournemouth , so how about comoing down here again for your loyal and upcoming fans?

I'd have loved to have heard Jimi live..up front...hanging on the stage..SRV might be the loudest I ever heard...maybe... to many to remember... or not....My sister said she saw Hendrix in Berkeley...so I looked it up in my "Black Gold" biography bout Jimi...sorry sis...you didnt see him there...maybe too much soda pop that night!

Crazy Horse - Neal Young - LOUD!  Made blue cheer seem quiet.  Headache loud.
Never saw Jimi or Stevie live.  Made the Stones seem quiet.

I know for quite a while Blue Oyster Cult had the loudest show on record, but I'm sure that has since been beaten.

Thanks Roy, you are right, it's Burning Hell (rather than Blazing Hell)! I must have been overcome by Joe's fantastic guitar playing  to pay sufficient attention to the lyrics.

Dave, Jimi played Berkeley in May 1970 when some of "Hendrix in the West" was recorded. Could your sister have been at this concert?
