Re: New tour...new set list

Since photogal mentioned old favorites, I vote for the first two song that I heard from Joe, No Slack and Unbroken.
First heard them from his website, many years ago, I know they have more of a pop edge to them, but hearing Joe put his "live" touch on those songs would be great!

yeah i too would love some no slack

Re: New tour...new set list

The current version of Mountain Time is maybe the best song ever put together and should never be taken out of any JB set list.

Sorry, but that's how I feel!

To back up my point, I linked a buddy to the JBTV section of the site and made him watch Mountain Time.  Now I can't get him to listen to any of the other songs.  Here's a transcript of our chat:

Me: http://www.jbonamassa.com/jbtv/  go to "mountain time"
Him: this song kicks ***!

(fifteen minutes later)

Me: you'll like the 5:35+ mark on "woke up dreaming" too
Him: it's like 3 more listens of mountain time away

(fifteen minutes later)

Me:  "Just Got Paid" is basically one ridiculous guitar solo
Him: you're really ****ing with my constant loop of mountain time
Him: you know that?

again, i doubt its even in consideration but it would get a vote from me too. one of my favorites Joe tunes and it has that cross-over potential. could be classified in a number of genres, in my opinion. wehn i finally leanr how to play guitar i'll be asking how to make all the sounds in that song. (would go over my head now)

little factoid, i had big joy once watching a Boston Public episode where No Slack was playing on a juke box on a scene

yeah gotta agree there.  that is a trip about boston public really odd to see joe in there particularlily no slack.  one of the producers must have been a big fan

Great statement!!!  Couldn't agree more...

Music is good for the Soul...

I'd like to hear you upset me baby, reconsider baby or Blue tea. As he did in Tavistock (uk) last year. Blues deluxe with the music from tea for one. A special mix and it sounded great.

Hey,

Let's bring this one back done just this way. The first time my oldest sister heard this song at my home it was off the Rockpalast DVD, on the big screen with the home theatre system roaring. After about a third of the song she said, "I love Blues done this way!" Yes sis, you got that right. Oh my, Oh my!

Wow! I never heard the Boston Public factoid. I don't watch that show, but very cool indeed!

I have it on a recording of Joe's show at Mr. Kyp's, Poole, UK, on August 3, 2007. I think this is the show Marianne was referring to because it's not on the Tavistock recording I have from August 2, 2007. He may have played it another time, but I don't have it.

You can hear (and see) part of the song as shot by Michael Lynch on this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmZ-PChOzHg

Re: New tour...new set list

I just watched the new version of "Don't Burn Down That Bridge" on Youtube. If I had never seen the old version from A New Day Yesterday Live I would have probably enjoyed it more but the old version absolutely blows away the new version. The ANDY Live version is one of my top five favorite JB songs. IMO the old version Don't Burn Down that Bridge and Pain and Sorrow are two of JB's best songs. JB's fan base is expanding very quickly and many of the new fans, myself included have never had the chance to witness those amazing songs live.

Is Carmine able to unleash like Eric Czar did on the old version and if he can I really hope they eventually do the old version?

Re: New tour...new set list

Carmine is the ultimate team player, a fantastic musician & arranger and a world class bass player.  If the boss (Joe) decides to unleash him, there will be a cosmic shift.  He won't do it unless the band leader gives the nod.  No ego there.  The total sound (Joe's call) is more important.

Let's wait and see. big_smile

Much Love

Amen to that.

You're right Lee,
