Topic: January 31st - The Coach House

The first show of 2008 was incredible!!!  I had the pleasure of meeting Roy, Ken, Sharon, and Jaci.  Had great seats, all of us were right up front and center.  Took some amazing pictures and will post them later this week when I get back home to Cleveland.  Here is the show's set list...............the band sounded so good.

Bridge to Better Days
Walk in My Shadows
So Many Roads
Mountain Time
Another Kind of Love
Sloe Gin
One of these Days
Ball Peen Hammer
Don't Burn Down that Bridge
woke Up Dreaming
Just Got Paid
Highwater Everywhere
Asking around for You
New Day Yesterday

Joe came out and hung out with all of us for quite a while after the show.  We have some great pictures!
He wasn't feeling to well, he is battling a sinus infection, but you would never know by the way he sounded on stage.
Thanks Joe for the show, I had such a great time, please take care of yourself, and get well soon.

We were lucky enough to get into the sold out Galaxy show too, (thanks Joe) still recovering.  Place was huge and pack to the rafters with fans.  I have never been to such a large venue with a packed house like that.  Met Rocket there, along with Jaci, Ken and Roy.  Unbelievable.  I will let one of them hook you up with the details on that show.

Re: January 31st - The Coach House

Re: January 31st - The Coach House

Thanks Susan!!  Great to hear that the house was packed and "the band sounded so good." I'll bet it was smokin' in there.  Can't wait to see the pictures of everyone.

And Mr. Joe Bonamassa, I sure hope you're feeling better to make that big trip across the ocean.  Take care of yourself and get some extra rest in when you can.  Luv ya and miss ya here in the wintery midwest.  Send us some blogs from the road if you can.

Re: January 31st - The Coach House

I was at the Galaxy last night...what a fantastic show. I met some really nice people, had some great conversations, and Joe absolutely blew me away! He really stole the show. I spent all my energy on Joe's set, so I was burned out by the time Robben got on! But man, that was really a great experience. Asking Around For You was just beautiful, played on Lucille.

Oh, I was the tall guy center stage a few feet back with a beanie smile

Re: January 31st - The Coach House

I'd like to welcome you  Musicinmysoul. I think you've been chatting on Robben Ford's site with jimm from here. I am making a new topic post headline for the Galaxy show.  But here, I will say it was indeed a fantasitc show.  I know you were the tall guy with the beanie, I stood behind you as I have this thing for listening to sound at shows with myriad criteria.  One of them is when there is a "floor" to get up behind a tall person to have my view blocked and see the effects on blocked sound.  Good to have you here and hear your initial comments.

Thanks for the warm welcome. The guy to my left with the Red Sox hat and yellow/black shirt was my friend, and the guy behind me with the leather jacket and short brown hair was my guitar teacher tongue

Re: January 31st - The Coach House

Did Joe play at all with Robben?  Joe said he's known Robben for many years, so I was hopin' they'd join forces on stage.

Re: January 31st - The Coach House

Thanks, Susan, for the set list.  Nico begged me to print the new set list so he can get right to work on his new tour in the homes of family and friends.

Have a great time in Ca and hope to see you real soon.

Re: January 31st - The Coach House

Thanks Susan! My question is this. With "Don't Burn Down That Bridge" sandwiched between "Ball Peen Hammer" and "Woke Up Dreaming", was "Don't Burn Down That Bridge" played acoustically by chance?

Good question Lee, inquiring minds want to know.  The first time I saw Joe 6 years ago, he played Burn and was amazing to say the least...

Join forces????

Robben is no longer a "force". Sure he can still play but his personality and activity (or lack thereof) make it impossible to call him a force.

Seems to me it would be like oil and water to have them on the stage together. Doesn't surprise me that it didn't happen.

I have to agree with Pcornell............when I was watching Joe play prior to Robben, he blew the roof off the place!!  I kept thinking.........why would any one want to follow him?
Robben is very talented, and I did enjoy the performance, but it seemed to pale a little in comparison to the energy from Joe.

Hi Michael, Shred was there with his son, he stopped by to say hi to Roy, Jaci, Ken and Sharon, but walked to the back before I could catch him to say hi.  I never saw him after that.
