Re: TBX Tone control

I had a Custom Shop Clapton Strat for a while with a 25db boost circuit. Great on a single channel tube amp but a little bit too much 'middle' eq for me.

Re: TBX Tone control

wonder what the difference is between this and a midrange kit from torresengineering?

Re: TBX Tone control

The TBX tone control was standard on the stratocaster plus models (1989-1997) as well as the intial clapton models.  It works on a stacked pot system.  0-5 bass boost 5 detente and 6-10 is your treble boost or normal tone pot.  Hopefully they will make one that goes to 11!
I collect strat plus's and have found this a nice and useful feature. dave

I'm a big fan of the TBX tone control- gives you some really cool tones in there... lots of fun to play around with...

Re: TBX Tone control

My EC Strat had an indent for tone as you've said and then the other tone pot added the boost. There are two EC signature Strats..... The "cheaper" one had the system you mentioned but the Custom Shop had the other option.....I think....the old memory gets a little hazy sometimes wink
