Capt. avoid that planet at all costs... if you want to live longer & prosper morer...
Well, it's actually not the planet but that shuttle driver who "takes" you there-HA! His crews picks your tight fitting spandex pocket (yes, that one) and then the pilot with a suspended licence for Space Invading and a penchant for "Space Rage" always crashes into what you thought was planet BluesRock but is just a Hard Rock...without a Cafe...

Just thought I would share.  We were planning on seeing you Joe in Vegas on Feb 2nd, til we got ahold of some great seats to see Sammy Hagar the same night, same time.  Wanted to share some love that has been flowing thru the Sammy Board about you.  Sammy is suppose to have a special guest guitar hero join him on-stage this night in Vegas and your name has been brought up numerous times and people have been dealing out the compliments on you and your wicked guitar (which we have known for mnay years).  I know you won't be that far away but with being the same time it would be impossible to be two places at the same time.  Keep on tearin' it up Joe B. and will catch a show soon.

Don't know how many people know this, but Sammy's son, Aaron, was the original singer for Bloodline.  He was pretty good but things didn't work out for the album.  His time in the band was pretty short.  I was lucky enough to see that lineup before he split.

My friend is real tight with Aaron...he only live 2hours away...his old man dont cut him any slack...the dude has to work his butt off just to pay his bills...I'd say more ...but I'll leave it at that....I probably spoil my kids too much...hmm...maybe Sammy has something there

I'm a tyrant, but balance in all things, brother.  When they do their job, mine is easy and they can have anything they want within reason.  When they don't they get "The Dad Look" which will stop charging Rottweilers in their tracks, and a big fat NO.

Re: Sammy Hagar

Kapt. Kirk,

Sammy Hagar will be up the road from you on Hwy 44 in Bourbon, MO (about 2 miles from me!) after this tour is over. He wil be picking up his new car: "Sammy's car, called the GCM-R, is a brand new '67 Mustang," he said, noting that, with all the special features on it, carries a price tag of $165,000. It began with a basic Mustang body but the rest is all custom parts.

There is an article about Gateway Clasic Mustang in the local paper that talks about his new car and also another on order for Michael Anthony. This shop does some excellent work. Here is the link to the article http://www.emissourian.com/site/index.c … &rfi=8

If you are ever headed towards St. Louis, drop me a line. I have been taking care of the Street Team in the St. Louis area. By chance did you catch the show in Springfield at the Shrine back in Sept. for the Greater Ozarks Blues Festival?

Re: Sammy Hagar

Rhonda,

Thanks for the info on Sammy's Car, did not know that.  I do come to St. Louis quite a bit, have family that lives in St. Charles.  Will be up in Festus  in about 3 weeks for a Baseball showcase for my son.  I know Festus is South, but thought we might make a weekend of it and spend some time in St. Louis.  I was out of town the weekend of the Greater Ozarks Blues Fest, I know the weather did not want to co-operate that weekend.  Joe B has a great following here in Springfield and Dr. Bob does an excellent job playing his music on "The Blues Show".  I will meet you at a Joe B show soon, be my pleasure.  What kind of Camera do you use?  We are looking at the new Canon's, want something with high shuttle speed for action photos.  Any reccomendations?

Take care

Re: Sammy Hagar

A few years ago we saw Sammy at the Hard Rock. At that time he was working on a side project with Michael Anthony, Neil Schon, & Deen Castronova.

Michael came out and played bass on the VH tunes. Neil Schon came out and played guitar on "Only One Way To Rock". The encore was Sammy, Michael, Neil, and Deen. Their project band was titled "Planet US", and they played 2 songs. "Vertigo" was the first and it had been written for the Spider Man soundtrack and rejected as too hard. The second song was "Peeping Through A Hole", about an abused child. Both songs were absolutely killer. Very very hard rockin tunes.....the band almost sounded a little "Tool" like. Hard to describe but the crowd was left standing with their mouths open like they'd been hit by a train. Awesome. One of the best rock shows we've ever seen, counting the previous 2 hours from Sam.

The side project never materialized any further as all the guys had their own stuff to keep working on. Neil later formed "Soul SirkUS" and recorded a full CD with the material that was to be for "Planet US", but again the project never came together. Too much Journey work to really focus on it.

Usually during the day when Sammy is in Vegas he can be spotted in the cabanas near the pool at the Hard Rock. He and Michael Anthony swear by it.

Should be a fun weekend in LV, although we wouldn't miss Joey's show to see Sam.

Re: Sammy Hagar

Thanks for the refresher PC,  I do remember Soul SirkUS, they played some of it on XM 41 Boneyard when it first came out.  Would of loved to been at Hard Rock for the show, bet it was killer.  Hard Rock is one of favorite places out there and always eat and play there.  One night last year a beautiful young lady came streaking thru the Casino after a pool party.  Did not see it but there was a lot of talk about that the rest of the night.

We do not get quality concerts where I am from so Vegas is our outlet to see them.  Hoping to catch RUSH in May and wish Night Ranger was a week earlier, they are playing next weekend.  Hopefully catch up with you and Moody somehwere next weekend, Joe B will be a killer show and I am really torn being the 2 shows are at the same time.  Safe travels to all and have a great time!

Jim and Phil, hope you get out of town ok.  We got this snow suppose to be here by this afternoon and I have a feeling I will be shoveling the driveway before we leave tomorrow.  Have a great time.

Re: Sammy Hagar

It's about 55 degrees here currently (Houston). We had a light rain this morning and that's it. Don't think its going to be a problem getting out.

However, we are connecting in OKC, so we can fly into LV with our friends. I hope things aren't shut down in OKC and this little detour delays us......you know what they say -- "No good deed goes unpunished...".

VEGAS BABY!!!!
