Topic: A little help from Joe's Management

I have been communicating with the NY State Blues Fest oragnizers and local radio personalities (on the Blues Fest board), in an attempt to get Joe invited to the Fest.  In the process, one of the Blues Fest guys, emailed me indicating that he already tried and was informed by Joe's agent that he was not available for that date, July 12-13, 2008.  I know that things are always happening in the background before the Tour schedule is updated on the website, but I would like to know that Joe really is "not available" and this guy is not blowing me off.  Also, on the subject, there are other events that I have been discussing the possibility of inviting Joe.  What is the "official" mode of operation to help promote booking Joe at a Fest or individual show?

I don't have the inside skinny but I do know that Festivals book months in advance, so your best bet at this point may be to push for 09...Just a guess on my part..   Cathy

You did what you could. If the buyer for the event contacts William Morris and inquires about a date that is all you can hope for.

Unless the guy was lying to you about contacting management then it is  probable that the date has been held for another show. There are a variety of reasons a date might already be filled but has not  been posted.

Most mid sized blues festivals book in November.  I know from professional experience.

Most large events like Chicago book further out than that
