Topic: Robin Trower back in the UK

Robin Trower is scheduled for a tour of the UK. This guy is a legend and just has to be seen. He has bad memories of the UK in popularity terms favouring the States for audience support and affection. Check him out in May, when his tour takes in 18 dates around the UK. Check out his website

Re: Robin Trower back in the UK

I'll let you know how the show is. We're seeing him in two weeks.

I'm just saying.

Great, that would be interesting Nancy. We're all busting a gut here, wating for Joe and the boys to show up. I'm booked to see them in Birkenhead, Crewe, Manchester and Newcastle. Think I've persuaded about twenty eight new fans to come along to this tour so far. Let me know how Robin's show is!

Re: Robin Trower back in the UK

Just checked his website for US stops...he's coming to "The boardwalk in Orangevale"....thats 10 minutes driving time from my front door...it's a tight little venue...lots of undesirables to mix it up with, not me...I'm too old for that...but I'll be right on top of the stage....he always comes back to this dive in the suburb of Sacramento...and thats just fine with me!.... oh yeah...thats Feb 15th..YOWZA!!

He's all over NorCal next month and down south too. He's playing the Fillmore on Valentines Day, 2/14. I saw him in Petaluma a year ago Sept. A good show, but a one dimensional sound. He played the same strat throughout the entire show. If you catch him at the right venue it'll only set you back $20 to $30 dollars.

Re: Robin Trower back in the UK

Robin is playing the Railhead at Boulder Station on Feb 1st, the night before Joe B.  Our flight does not get in til 9pm and the show starts at 8PM, was really hoping to catch this one.  Too many great shows in Vegas and not enough time or dates to catch them all.

Re: Robin Trower back in the UK

Robin is in Bakersfield, CA (my town) on Feb 10. I can't believe that we get see him without going to L.A. When we were in Venice last year, I made a point to see the Bridge of Sighs. I remembered that album from my high school years and had no clue what he was referring to until I was in Venice!!!

Re: Robin Trower back in the UK

My hubby gave me the history lesson on this while we were in Venice.  He got some excellent photos through the triangle window you can see slightly at the bottom right on this link.

So whats the diilio on RT not being popular in England I would have never thought that would be the case. England always seems to embrace heavy blues type music

Re: Robin Trower back in the UK

Thanks for the link! We are looking to go back to Italy and London sometime soon using our air miles. We took our three sons (27,24 &21) last year to Europe for 15 days, but we only got to spend one day in Venice. We plan to go back by ourselves and spend a few days looking around.  I was hoping that Joe would be in Europe during the fall cause it would be a reason to pull the trigger and go.

Re: Robin Trower back in the UK

When is he coming to Holland?

Would love to see him once. He's on my list too.

Geoff replies - I remember reading this in one of his diary entries on his web site. He was expressing that he felt there was poor support from the UK crowds. Not sure whether he meant poor attendances or lack of emotion from the audience. He just came across as preferring the feedback he got in the States!

I think there has been a resurgence of R&B live music interest in the UK, with more and more live music venues offering quality acts. The music industry is changing and the increased interest in live music and ticket prices has had the effect of more people wanting to see the best acts live! Not before time is my thought on this.

Keep music live!
