Re: Robben Ford & Joe Share the Bill Feb 1st
I wish I lived in Cali just for reasons like this.
Other than for the shows, I don't think I would like living there a whole lot.

Hey Monti,
Jacque, Ken and I live in Wisconsin and we're going to be there. Hop a plane and get over to the Big State. It's going to be a blast. Add to that, we're hangin' with J Dawg and Shred. I just hope California is ready for this lethal conbimation! Actually, I hope Joe is ready for our group. Gosh, Jacque's cousin Sharon who lives in Newport Beach is going to be at both shows with us. She doesn't know anything about Joe yet. Maybe we should bring a resuscitator with us?
Roy
It's just another gig on our resumes for me and the Dawg....sports and music...were just a couple of simpletons....no were actually fired up big time....cant wait to hear what the boys open up with....gotta keep "walkin my shadows"...how else is he gonna intro the band....you say Jaci cousin is single??....maybe I'll bring David with me...he knows CPR...and damn good looking too!...took that from his momma...Hey Montius...Cali is a huge state, we got it all!!...once you hang here for awhile, you will be saying..." I wish I wasnt in Kansas"...lol

Re: Robben Ford & Joe Share the Bill Feb 1st
Sharron says we're nuts to fly to CA for only 2 1/2 days - and I think she's right -
I certainly will not want to go back to freezing Wisconsin ! We had another snow
storm yesterday - 6 inches. YCK !

I would most definitely if my place of employment would allow it. I'm not thinking that it's going to be in the cards this time, though.

Re: Robben Ford & Joe Share the Bill Feb 1st
Don't feel bad, I live 150 miles from Santa Ana and I can't make either show. So close but so far away! My only consolation is that Robben Ford is in Bakersfield, CA (my town) this Friday and I have tickets 7 rows from the front ( I only just found out yesterday).

Yo Monti, I may be an Ohio native, but I've lived in Ca. for goin' on 43 years now. You need to experience the Golden State at some point in your life, it's a whole different existence out here. If you come you really need to spend a month just to scratch the surface of all there is to see and do. From north to south I'd recommend Lake/Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen, inactive volcanoes, the Mendocino coast where giant redwoods meet the Pacific Ocean, head over to Clearlake, the largest natural lake in the state (remember 1/2 of Tahoe is in Nevada), head over the hill into Napa and Sonoma valleys, the wine doesn't get any better than this. Next stop the Bay Area, SF Berkeley, Oakland, San Jose, hell you could spend a month right here. Head east and swing through Sacramento's Old Town, maybe the Govenator might be in town, if not he'll be bock!!
then it gets good, head east into the Sierras and Lake Tahoe (heaven on earth). head outta Tahoe south into Gold Country, lots of history. Bam!!! just a little further south and you're in Yosemite, (did I forget to tell you there's two heaven's on earth and we got'em both). Hang in there, we're only half way. Drop out of the mountains into America's bread basket, the central valley, about half the country feeds off of this area. Go west again to the ocean to see Big Sur and follow hwy. 1 for awhile. Bounce over to Hearst Castle for a mind boggling architechural trip. Next stop Santa Barbara, I wonder what the rich folks are up to today? Slide into LA, I still can only handle this place in small doses, 2 to 3 days tops and I'm beat. To cool at the ocean, head east to Palm Springs or drop into Death Valley, that ought to warm you up. Shuffle back into Orange County and visit the magic kingdom, Say hi to Mickey! One more stop, San Diego!!! the beaches, the golf, THE MEXICAN FOOD!!! If this sounds like a lot, well I probably left out more than I mentioned. What the hell are you waiting for?????? See ya soon. Remember Ca. is so much fun Joe B. moved here. By the way what do you recommend to do in Kansas????

Yeah I would enjoy the outdoors of California (probably even the desert areas, but specifically NorCal area), but I am not much of a big city kind of guy, tbh. I like the fresh open air and the ability to just go live with nature. I could definitely see myself moving to the Pacific Northwest someday. LA just seems kind of like a large cesspool to me so I tend to have no huge desire to go there (or any giant metropolitan area for that matter). I am sure there are tons of things to do there, and I may visit there sometime, but I think I'll pass on living there. Plus I am just a poor midwestern boy who would be even poorer in that part of the country (and the East coast as well).
As for what there is to do in Kansas? Well, not a whole lot, but then again that can be a good thing if you ask me. We have the hunting, fishing, outdoor, ect. that I have done my whole life, and if you want to be left alone, you can be. I don't know, I guess I am just a small town farm boy that enjoys the open space (and Kansas sure has a lot of that). Western Kansas is very flat and I wish we had more rolling hills or mountains, but that's ok I suppose. Plus, I feel confident to say that I could tolerate the weather anywhere because I have lived 21 years of my life in a state that has the most extremes of all weather. Kansas certainly isn't for everyone, that's for sure, but it's my home and will always be, regardless of where I actually live. I feel there is a level of freedom here that is, in a way, unique.

Re: Robben Ford & Joe Share the Bill Feb 1st
I just have to pipe in here and say that San Francisco is the neatest city I have ever
been to. We stayed on the Warf with a view of Alcatraz, visited the Pier, Crooked
Street where my cousin lives, China Town, rode the cable cars, we even took the
public bus out to Haight Ashbury, went across the Goldengate Bridge out to Mier
Park and saw the big trees and up into the wine country. I would go back in a
second!

Re: Robben Ford & Joe Share the Bill Feb 1st
I have to say, the bars in Sac Town were very nice. Plus one night, there was this fellow with two young ladies that had very short skirts, very high heels and little white bobby socks on. Oh mommy!! And I was a much younger man at that time. Need I say more?
Roy
P.S. Also, the best 6 weeks of weather that I ever saw in my life! When I came back to Wisconsin, everyone was calling me "Soul Brother" because I had definetely changed color.
Gee's Roy - when I said Ryan McGarvey was gorgeous you told me to "act my age"....

But then again, it sounds a bit like one of your outfits! LOL Sister Cate PS...Love the Avatar Albert and Tallan!

Cathy, I couldn't have said it better myself. Who does Roy think he's kidding!
By the way - your friend Albert was absolutely awesome - as a person and as a guitarist.

Jaci, would you be referring to Muir Woods? in Marin County with the large redwoods. The crookedest st. is Lombard St. If you liked SF you've got to visit Portland and what I believe is the cleanest big city I've ever been to, Seattle. It might have something to do with all that rain, right Stu?

Re: Robben Ford & Joe Share the Bill Feb 1st
Yes it was Muir Woods with the HUGE redwood trees - we spend quite awhile there
walking around and taking pictures. I really loved everything we did in SF. Would
go back anytime.
