Topic: Guitar Tech Question

I just picked up a Fender Classic Series 50's strat and I have a question about it. I was wondering if there is anyway to remove the volume and tone knobs. The pick guard had a clear plastic cover over it, and when I removed the plastic it kind of got stuck under the volume and tone knobs. Kind of a silly question, but I don't want to harm my new guitar in any way. By the way its surf green with a maple neck, so gorgeous! Thanks.

They should "pull" right off.  They don't come off easily though.

Place a soft cloth around the control that you want to remove....a duster will do fine. Then get a thin flat-head screw driver and very very gently work around the control knob, lifting a little bit at a time.... eventually it will come away from the shaft of the control pot and you'll be able to remove the remaining plastic. BUT!!!!!....if you don't feel that you want to take a chance and damage your guitar then take it back to the store where you bought it and ask them to do it for you....and watch them as they do it so you'll know next time.
