Re: What year was it?

1982 - the year I gave Ken tickets to the 5th game of the playoffs for his birthday - Brewers were down
2 games to 0 and came back to win a trip to the Series.  I don't have a very good memory
but I remember every second of that game and celebrating in Milwaukee afterwards.
We haven't been to the Series since.

Re: What year was it?

Haven't heard that name in ages but I do remember him - you were teammates - cool.
When you meet Ken you will see that he does not excite easily (we're opposites !) -
but that present did the trick (of course I think it was as much a present to myself !)
but heck, he doesn't read the forum ....

Re: What year was it?

To answer your question honestly...No.  I'm always an opposite, and there is one, and only one, year of my life that is NOT memorable-my first year of life-all others meet, often exceed all the benchmarks you mention...

Re: What year was it?

The year 1989, May 8th to be exact, I watched my son being born into this world and it pretty much changed everything. He's comin' up on 19, it seems like it went by in a flash.

Re: What year was it?

Ok...thought I'd throw in my year...so many to choose from....I'm going to go with 1994...we left the SanFrancisco Bay Area....we knew early in the year it was time to leave...I had lived there since 1965 when my parents divorced in Germany and we went stateside....we let the kids finish their 7th and 9th grade classes....couldnt buy a home in the bay area, always got priced out...so we dropped the bomb on our kids (hated me for the first year)...and the rest of the family members (they were shocked)....said it was time to move on to a place we could afford ( Sacramento area, 2 hours away) to buy a home.

Turned out to be the best thing Deb and I have ever done....even our kids thanked us years later...we moved to Roseville, it's 20 miles from down town Sacramento....that year was the toughest on the kids...they left all there friends they grew up with since kindergarten....signed up David for football the second day in town...Sharina for cheerleading...the made new friends slowly....Deb and I met made friends with all the other parents who had their kids in the same activities...the best part about that summer was driving 7 miles to see the 49ers training facilty...bought our first home and moved in halloween day...I took a look at the pictures we took that day awhile back...I sure had a full had a full head of dark brown hair back then...and now  sad ..oh well...we look back now..and the only one left in the bay area is Debs dad and a brother...

Didnt expect to hear "this is your life" Shred, did you...but I always loved that show in the 60s..so thought I'd do "a year in the life" of my own....good night now

You know, there was another year that really meant a lot to me. If I can write something worth posting I'll tell you the long version of the story.

I can hear that moaning already. I know you're all thinking, "Not another long drawn out story from Roy again. May the Lord help us!"

Roy

You skeered bubba...lets hear it....who cares how long it is.....theres only a few of us here that...shall we say..."are over the top...too much information....speak there mind...what ever you want to call it".....give us a story...you know i love em....I got quite a few...some of them hard to believe....but true!
