Very nice find Patty!

Doesn't this say everything?

"Programs like these are exactly what is missing in the curriculum. There is a certain retainable knowledge that students obtain by experiencing real-life artists. Students will forever remember the day that Joe Bonamassa came into their class to educate them on The Blues. We need more of these programs, in more schools, it will one day be the driving force behind a student's inspiration to excel in the arts, and in their education." explains Michael Dyson co-founder of The Blue Shoe Project.

AMEN to that!! If you haven't seen Joe give one of these presentations, for goodness sakes do yourself a favor and go. It's worth it BIG TIME!!

Next year both of my kids will be attending school full days and I will have a little more time on my hands.  Although, I'll probably just hang out here more often wink.  I remember when I was in about 3rd grade that a country singer and guitarist came to our school and I was so mesmerized.  I'm not a big country fan and looking back now, the guy was a little dorky because he did some skits with puppets and stuff but I believe it had a huge impact on me as far as music goes.  I love working with kids of all ages and sharing my knowledge and love for the blues.  I really want to get involved and take it to the schools like Joe does.  I just don't know where to start.  Does anyone here have any suggestions?  Are there existing programs out there that I can get involved in?
