Anyone ever listen to these guys? What a talented duo; they play some amazing covers as well as great originals. I just got into them and now can't get the CD out of my car. Check out some of the vidoes.

I don't know where they hail from, but I read that they spent some time in Ireland of all places polishing their act. Speaking of Ireland Shred and I saw a young Irishman named Owen Harrington, who now lives in SF, open for Back Door Slam last night. Solo act with outstanding vocals, guitar, piano, singer/songwriter.

Good stuff!
I heard them on the radio and really liked their stuff. Thanks for sharing this. I'll check it out.
Just wanted to give this a bump, as the duo have just released a live album/CD/DVD package, 'Rodrigo Y Gabriela Live In Japan', which is outstanding.
The album captures Rod & Gab making their live Japanese debut, at Tokyo's Duo club on March 30th this year. The show had been sold out for weeks; such was the level of anticipation from their Far East fanbase. 'Live In Japan' mixes tracks from Rodrigo y Gabriela's acclaimed, self-titled debut album with older live favorites, and also includes a new track - 'OK Tokyo' as well as Rod & Gab's legendary solo jams recorded for the first time. The album is being released as limited edition by ATO Records.
The album package also includes a five track bonus DVD of highlights from the concert, mixed in 5:1 surround sound; which is sure to be in demand with Rodrigo y Gabriela's fret-fanatic following.
Since its original release in Europe in February 2006, 'Rodrigo y Gabriela' has been one of the great word-of-mouth success stories in recent music history. With over 500,000 albums sold worldwide (300,000 in the U.S.), it has helped to establish Rod & Gab as one of the most exciting live bands on the planet. The duo are currently writing songs for their next studio album at their base in Ixtapa, Mexico.
Tracklisting - CD - OK TOKYO, JUAN LOCO, ORION, FOC, SATORI, IXTAPA, VIKINGMAN, TAKE FIVE, ONE, GABRIELA SOLO, RODRIGO SOLO, STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN, TAMACUN, DIABLO ROJO.
DVD - SATORI, IXTAPA, VIKINGMAN, TAMACUN, DIABLO ROJO
Perhaps the most enjoyable live all acoustic instrumental guitar album I've heard since Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin and Paco Delucia's 'Friday Night in San Francisco'. Great introduction, as it has a nice cross section of tracks from their earlier albums.
"Diablo Rojo" from the DVD :

I was up late one night and first saw the video Diablo Rojo on the National Geographic channel. If you get the station, they play world music videos in the middle of the night. Good stuff! I plan on getting the new DVD/CD for the hubby for xmas - he listens to them on youtube all the time.

Very good. There is a local family here in OKC. The Cruz brothers that do a good version. This is an old video when they were in France with Tommy Emmanuel, doing Stairway. There are a couple of clips of Mark backstage jamming with Tommy too.
