Re: TV somewhat back to normal

Roy or anybody else ever seen Inside Moves from 1980? Very good film about a bunch of misfits and losers who regain self esteem through one of their friends oppurtunity to get his shot in the NBA. Netflix doesn't have it and my local Blockbuster doesn't stock it either. Just watched one of my favorite John Ritter flicks by Blake Edwards titled Skin Deep from '89, very funny stuff. Good action flick I watched yesterday, War, with Jason Statham and Jet Li, also just saw 3:10 To Yuma, good western action stuff.

Oh!....we going to movies now...hmm...that could really get this thread heading towards infinity....ok, let me throw down one...geez, I cant even remember the name of it...how embarrasing!...it was the best acting performance I've ever seen by Tom Cruise...he should have been nominated for an academy award on the sole reason that he's never come close to anything near that good in his career...IMHO...oh nearly forgot...he played a hit man and his co-star was Jamie fox...help me out someone, whats the name of that flick again??

Colatteral Damage. I know how you feel today, my brain ain't functioning to well after last night either. Back to TV, Modern Marvels is on, episode on high tech sex. Speaking of which, the porn convention is on this weekend in Vegas. That's the kind of info you get on KNBR Sportstalk radio in SF.

Jdawg,
For the most part, I HATE PRIME TIME TV.  It rots the mind.  It is a part of the conspiracy to dumb down America (and the rest of the world).  My opinion.  My kids are capable of thought and intelligent conversation because there is no MTV on ever in my house.  I like Music.

Commercials are insulting.  Colbert at least is funny & engaging.  College boy turned me on to him by giving me his book, cause I wouldn't watch.

Sports is OK, I like that sometimes.  I guess I should be happy that most of the world is glued to the idiot box while I make my rounds.

Wife says I only hate it because of my own failings.  I can't have it on and do anything else.  It distracts me.  She's right.  It's me.  Easily distracted.  What were we talking about?

i agree.  i watch less tv than the average person but more than id like too.  a friend of mine was talking about how whenever he has kids hes not getting cable and probably not having a tv for anything but movies.  it really does make you dumber as it is just a perfect way to waste time.  almost anything else you do you are either bettering yourself or getting something done.  not watching tv.  the thought came to him when he found out this group of brothers from our highschool who are all very good musicians grew up with no tv in the house.  there are better ways to fill time.  i would be more skilled at many things had  i grown up with no tv.  that said im not knocking anyone for watching it i do it too.  glad to have colbert report and conan obrien back.  other than that i basically just watch sports and curb your enthusiasm.  and movies

that said im glad it
