Topic: Salvaging a lost football season

As pathetic as the Bears season has been, Bears fans will take solace in the fact that they swept the Packers this year.
The first victory was pulled out of the fire and I know that the Packers felt like they gave the game to the Bears. Today's game was never in question, a pretty dominant performance from start to finish.
As a Bears fan, it was disappointing to finally see the Bears show up with some fire and a sense of purpose. I am left wondering where this was all year long.

Packers fans: Do not be disappointed. You are heading to the playoffs, while we are left looking (with apprehension) towards next year.

Re: Salvaging a lost football season

True dat. A small consolation for a disappointing season.

However, I must say that it was great fun this year being present to watch the Bears steal it away from the Pack in their own stadium in the first game and being in Pack country yesterday to watch them lose home field advantage.

Now for the annual Chicago offseason ritual...the great quarterback controversy. Will Rex return? Will Kyle get the nod? Will we buy Donovan McNabb who will turn into another Kordell Stewart? Or will we draft another golden boy destined to be the next Brady/Manning/Favre...NOT! Stay tuned....:D

I'm just saying.

Roy,
Win or lose, that sounds like a much better way to spend an afternoon.
You can turn on the tv anytime and watch overgrown, overpriced men chase an oblong ball. Time with your kids is like a running clock.
So how much farther than you does Sarah hit it? lol
Merry Christmas.

Well....I watched the Mullet yesterday...I mean Dolphins.  As much as I have always hated the BillsJetsPatriots, there is something about this patriots team...dunno, it's more than a grudging admiration.  They fascinate me.  I study them.  What makes them so powerful? There's a chemistry there.  There's a work ethic, a cold blooded determination to never let up...Nah I hate 'em.  Never mind!

Hated to see the Packers give any advantage to those damn Cowboys.  Rexy darling, thought he was all that in college, went pro and his education finally began.  Da Bears!

Parcells to Miami...HEADS WILL ROLL!  McNabb?  Oh please.  Let me shut up.  You just never know.  Nobody pays me millions to call a football shot.  hmmmm.

Come to think of it I'd like to see the pack ice the pats.  That may change after my coffee...will someone please ...

This Cowboys fan would like to thank the Bears for giving the Cowboys home field advantage throughout the playoffs. DUFFMAN SAYS OH YEAH!

I don't understand all the hatred for old Dallas. Take that hate and put it towards New England. Now that's a team that deserves to be hated.

Point taken, but truth be told, they were already in line for home field by beating Green Bay in Dallas. And when it's Packers vs. Bears, you'd better bring it. Talk about a grudge match.

Only for the tunes and the Cowboys do I pull for Texas. Nothing else Texas. As a Razorback fan, that is all that can work. smile

It's amazing how often team records mean nothing when it comes to the Bears/Packers. You can usually throw the records out the window and sit back and enjoy unbridled mayhem!

Re: Salvaging a lost football season

My English football team's theme song is totally applicable to what I've just witnessed. sad

    I'm forever blowing bubbles,
    Pretty bubbles in the air,
    They fly so high,
    Nearly reach the sky,
    Then like my dreams,
    They fade and die.
    Fortune's always hiding,
    I've looked everywhere,
    I'm forever blowing bubbles,
    Pretty bubbles in the air.

RIP Iron Man
