Topic: floydian slips

Went and seen these guys on New Years Eve..........O what a show! Very interesting read on the band bio. They all are from different bands and only play a couple of times a year. But by the sounds of them it sounds like their full time gig. They are spot on! http://www.myspace.com/floydianslips

I just listened to all the stuff The Floydian Slips have up on MySpace (the vids)... they don't sound too bad, considering they only do it a few times a year.  I have a niece who recently moved to Portland OR, and I noticed their schedule says they're playing Portland on Jan 12th, so I just emailed her the link in hopes they will provide her with a Floyd fix.

Oddly enough, I also rang in the New Year with a Floyd tribute band, The Machine... they played Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe PA (same place I saw Joe Bonamassa in Nov)... a great venue... met up some friends and had a blast.  If you or any other Floyd fans here ever get the chance to see The Machine, don't miss it!  They're based in the New York area, but they do tour, including Europe... they're kicking off their 20th anniversary tour with a 3 weeks of dates in the Southeast in Jan.  But just one warning... after seeing/hearing The Machine, it kinda ruins it for all the other Floyd tributes out there, including the Aussies.  tongue

hey tie dye, would never have thought anyone else was watching a floyd cover band at the same time. Way cool.......... I'm sure if your neice goes to the Portland show, she will not be disapointed. There are other floyd bands out there and so far we have the top two IMHO. I hope to be able to see The Machine soon. Thanks for the info and the response on the Slips
