Topic: Ok.. Im off to Nashville

Hey Everybody,
          Im up late packing for my Nashville trip tomorrow.  I am going down to design along with the Gibson Custom Shop a Joe Bonamassa Gibson Les Paul.. First Let me say that it will always be Les's guitar the most successful signature model of all time.  Im just doing a interpretation of a ingenious design to begin with.  I have seen Les 4 times in Concert and he is brilliant. I even got a picture with him last year.  He is a pro's pro.  Sound checking after doing 2 shows at 93 years old.  Always striving for something new and never satisfied with with the status quo even tho he is a icon of the highest order.  With that said I am tremendously honored that Gibson wants to do this.  Its every kid guitar players  dream to have his/her name on a Gibson Les Paul.  I have my #one packed in its well worn case ready to be taken apart and copied.  My # One is the Tom Murphy 1959 wild looking Les Paul that I have played for the past 5 years.  We havent settled on the final look of the guitar but it will play and be set up exactly the same.. I just wanted to share this as I cant really sleep with excitement.  Its like Charlie and the Chocolate factory and Willie Wonka rolled into one event.  All I can say about the guitar is its going to be cool..

That is so awesome....I cannot even begin to describe how jealous I am.....

I hope I can afford one of these when it comes out.  I've been seriously considering shopping for a Les Paul, and this news just confirmed that, yes, I will be buying one in the (hopefully not so distant) future.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving player, I must say.  Congradulations and good luck!

Congratulations, Joe. What a serious honor and at such a young age. I think you'll turn out to be this generation's Les Paul...an icon and a pro's pro as you say. Enjoy this time. You earned it.

Are we going to get to see you playing your design in some future shows?

Joe congrats...it's just an honor to have ever shook your hand....all that hard work....and the world is discovering you more everyday....I'm sure Les is smiling too!!....he knows great when he hears and sees it....we certainly do....have fun In Nashville....dont speed in that town...them cops were not very friendly when they gave me a ticket for running a stop sign...in fact when i went to open the trunk of my rental car....the man reached for his holster.....I'm like WOWE EASY!!, my wallets in my suitcase...lol...of course you can always drop Les name....you will probably get an police escort..

Hey Joe.  Have a blast in Nashville and may it be a truly memorable trip.  WOW, you get to help design the Joe B Gibson Les Paul too.  That is awesome my friend.  What a honor to you as a musician.  You deserve it, congratulations!!!!
