You have no idea the pressure on me....you wanna hear about it?....did I hear you say NO!!.....I cant believe that, I got feelings too!!

Phew!....I thought you really meant that....heres whats happened today with a few forum buddies and a persistent wife.

I talked on the phone with JDAWG (John) and BLUESMAN (Roy) tonight, everyones on me to get down to Southern California for the show.....well I tell em..."no can do"...got to save some money for awhile.....get off the phone and Debbie ask whats the haps?....I run it by her....she looks at me like i've lost my mind..........." what do you meen your not going down there, come on were not destitude, call those guys up, your going....besides your son needs some work done on his car....you want some mechanic to rip him off!!...."

So I will shortin this story for you......just bought the tix for me and JDAWG.....I get on this here computer, and my cell rings again...it's the DAWG..."hey Shred we got to go to Santa Ana the next night too, Joe's playing with Robben Ford, Jim Moody just posted it on the forum".....I hope Johns not pulling my leg, I'll see in a minute...are kiddin me Joe and Robben on the same bill!!!

It is only a 3 and 1/2 hour drive from Santa Anna.........................
As Melissa likes to put it " that's just a couple CD's down the road!! "

Your kiddin me...right??.....man...if Jdawg sees this, he's going to be all over me....Its' 7 hours from my house to Santa Ana....then another 3 and 1/2 hours to Vegas...let me add that up....OH NO!!...it looks doable...one hell of a drive back though....I didnt mention to yall, I'm doing the driving....hey I'm sober...a couple of Red Bulls would do it.

Hows the "Bellagio"...never stayed there....

Bellagio is nice (very), although there are nicer places built since the Bellagio was the "place".

Be aware, this is also Super Bowl weekend. The second biggest event in Las Vegas (behind only NYE), so room prices are SKY HIGH. We are staying at the JW Marriott resort just a little out of the main town to have a super nice place without spending an arm and a leg.

Love to see you all there but I wouldn't wait to make the arrangements.

Guess we are taking in Robin Trower while you guys are in Santa Anna......

C'mon, Shred. Come to Vegas. You too, Roy. But the Bellagio? It's very nice but hope you got big bucks. We're staying at Boulder Station which was very reasonable considering the weekend. C'mon on up and we'll hook up for dinner before the show. big_smile

It's nice enough, but I don't think we'd stay there again. I think our favorite place is THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. The best value in Vegas though is the Nugget in downtown Vegas on Fremont. Nice place and very reasonable room rates.

I love JW resorts, especially when they have a lazy river...bought a timeshare a few years back...I've sorta' worked the system different than most, I can use all the facilities at the resort when my timeshare is a stone throw away ...The resort in Phoenix is awesome...the JW in Cancun was more expensive than the Ritz Carlton, I didn't quite get that ...BUT all these plans sound like so much FUN!!!  We were just talking about the Santa Ana concert w/Robben...would love to find a way...

Thanks Susan - Well don't get too jealous yet - we have no plane tickets bought and until that happens it's just a dream .....    I am also waiting to hear from my cousin to see if
she's all talk, or really means it - you know how that goes.....people say "come on out"
but when crunch time comes...  anyway I'm crossing my fingers.

Capt. Roy, Lt. Wench Nancy reporting for duty! Please rev up the Starship Bonamassa so I don't have to fly TED airline to Vegas (is that not the stupidest name for an airline you ever heard?) I wish we could pick up the entire crew and fly them out as well. What a party that would be. big_smile

When you say "dinner reservations get preferential seating" are you talking about the Cali show or the Vegas show? We've already got our tix for Feb. 1 and they are all general seating. It looks like a fairly small venue so all the seats should be good but I'd love to get down in front.

Yes, the February 1st show in Santa Ana at the Galaxy is actually the sister theatre to the Coach House. They both have the policy that if you make dinner reservations, then you get preferential seating for the show. I'm still waiting on Jacque to get housing cleared through her cousin. Sounds like hubby Ken is a "OK to GO" even if it is Super Bowl weekend. Hey, maybe we can sit next to you guys just like Dawn and I did at the HOB Chicago. She won't be with me this time, so we won't have to squeeze that old fart out of the 1st row. Although, this could be dangerous in that the 3 Amigos haven't been to California together yet. I sure hope the fault line can take it.  Better get my marchin' shoes dusted off to get ready for some walkin' blues! Can you say EARTHQUAKE? big_smile

I hope anybody planning on going to Vegas understands this is the second busiest weekend annually, being Superbowl weekend. Everything is maximum price and congested. If you go your best bet is to get a room at Boulder station and stay put. Also the show in Santa Ana has Robben Ford headlining so Joe will probably do a shortened set, be forewarned. See who ever makes it to SoCal. Hey Roy if you think about any seismic activity you just might get some. People around here just roll with it, I'll have plenty of meds to calm you down Capt. Remember SoCal is totally DUDE country.

99% chance of NO. SoCal will be enough to hold me over till later, hopefully Joe will be included on the line-up for the Santa Cruz Blues Festival on Labor Day weekend. I'd love to hit Vegas, but I'm in financial recovery from my health issues the past 4 months. Take up the slack for me, will ya?????
