Topic: What a beautiful day

I've lived in the Midwest all my life and I've never liked winter. Don't like the cold, don't like the snow. This year I made a vow I would get outside to exercise more often so I had to figure out what to do about the snowy months. My solution was to ask for a pair of snowshoes and boots for Christmas. I used them today for the first time since we had about 3-4 inches of snow last night and I had a blast!! I got out to the man-made lake near my house which has a walking trail around it, popped the snowshoes onto the boots and just started walking. Of course I was puffing like a racehorse after 10 minutes but it was so fun I didn't care. The sun was out, the air was crisp and the snow was pristine. I think I like winter after all. smile

I'm just saying.

I'm as nervous as a junkie street walker in church.  It's gonna be 27 tonight in Edgewater, FLORIDA with a 20 mph wind.  My orange trees are going to be...grrrr.  grumble...swear.

Ms Tia just said park a helicopter idling over the yard.  Very Funny.  I think pyromania might be an option.

2-3 days ago, I was in the kayak in the sun.  Now I have to do voodoo over the south end.
This too shall pass.

to work, jeff...shut up.

Hey Dave,

Right after I got done talking to you while grilling in the 15 degree weather, I stripped down and made a snow angel in the snow. Well, a snow angel with a long protrusion sticking out from it's body, if you know what I mean! wink.......................................................

Man, the steaks were good!!

I hear ya Jeff.  Not used to those hard freezes down here in FLORIDA.  It's supposed to get down to 26 around my house in Lake Mary tonight.  I guess we'll be pulling in plants and covering shurbs after work today.  And even then, I'm sure some of my plants still won't survive.  Ugghhhh!!!  Also, real bad news for the citrus growers.  I'll pray for minor damage.  Other than that, it's still quite beautiful outside. The sun is shining and I'm just gonna count my blessings.  After all, it will be flip-flop weather again in a few days.  smile

Re: What a beautiful day

Thanks Susan.  I'm better now.  Early morning grumps...looked at the whole situation after the sun came up & I'm not in bad shape at all.  Kids are home from school and working covering up now.  My garage/studio has all the exotics hanging in it with the speakers, amps and laundry lol...Won't be riding the Bike tomorrow.

Lake Mary?  We're neighbors!  Counting blessings here, too.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who grills in the winter. Except not the snow angel part. LOL

Re: What a beautiful day

Nancy OUCH!  Was the "hawk" blowing too?  Came out of a Jazz bar in Mass.  last year (cool blues jam had developed with the jazz cafe cats) after playing with my brother and it was 3 degrees outside.  It was hot inside and my hands knotted up before I got that car door open.  Hang in there.

Jeff
