as great as that sounds (since they are my 2 favorite guitarist/singer/songwriters), Joe is way too good to open for the Mule.

Re: Gov't Mule DVD

Where would be the best place to check into buying this new DVD at the best price?

If Joe Bonamassa and Gov't Mule toured together can you just imagine Joe and Warren jammin' together?

Unfortunately, there are several technical issues with this release....most notably, the video and audio on the 2nd set of the 1st disk are out of synch - very disappointing, indeed.
I'm waiting to see what happens with this, as there is starting to be a bit of an uproar from Mule fans.
Still, lots of great stuff to see and hear, but sorry for my premature recommendation.

nonetheless, mule has a far bigger following and most of their fans arent aware he exists, and it would help him get a lot more fans, if you ask me.  if he keeps headlining tours himself his fan base is going to remain about where it is.  this is absolutely nothing against him he is one of my favorite people currently touring, but blues simply is not popular, has virtually no fanbase among people under thirty, and even its best artists(excluding the legends) are completely unknown outside of fans of the genre.

Joe and the Mule are the two bands I actively pursue seeing in concert, my two favorite shows going around.

I think the best way to approach this (if Joe was interested) might be for J&R Ventures (Joe B and Roy W) to promote the show themselves. Secure the venue, sell the tickets, and bring in the other artist(s) for a Blues Bash of sorts. Rather than hope to hook up with Warren and Mule at a show somewhere, just put an event together themselves and then be part of it. Bring in Gov't Mule. Heck, bring in Walter Trout too. Bring in whoever...even George Thorgood. Two shows on two nights or something. The possibilities are endless. The logistics (and the $) might be tough, but it sure would be fun!

As a fan this sounds great to me, Stu.  Like the Indigenous Jam where I first saw Joe it has the potential to be one heck of a musical party.  Though like you say, the $ and logistics could be a real headache or risk.  But still it's nice to think that "maybe someday."

Re: Gov't Mule DVD

The Mule and Joe are the 2 best things the Rock and Roll world got going for it right now. If they would tour together I would follow it around the USA!!!!

Re: Gov't Mule DVD

Hey Guys:

I just got my DVD in the mail.
The same day, I got an email that the first batch of DVD's have a defect, and will be replaced at no charge. I have a set of DVD under the Christmas Tree with The BluesMistress name on it. Damn, will have to wait till latter to test drive the shows with a nice bottle of Zinfandel in hand.

Merry Christmas all!

Re: Gov't Mule DVD

Just so you don't bypass this great DVD because of a glitch, here's what's on Mule's site for anyone who hasn't seen it (excuse this if it's really old news)

TAIL OF TWO CITIES DVD PROBLEMS
It has been discovered that there was an error during the manufacturing process of the Tail of Two Cities DVD, and as a result, the discs included in the DVD package are defective.  We are working hard to manufacture new discs as quickly as possible.  Those of you who purchased the DVD via the Gov't Mule Store Pre-Order will receive new discs via mail as soon as they are manufactured.  Please note, DO NOT RETURN your discs to Musictoday – we will automatically be sending you discs as soon as we have the corrected versions.  Please save your DVD packaging, since we will only be sending the discs themselves.

Those of you who purchased the discs via traditional retail outlets can return the discs to point of purchase.

We apologize for the inconvenience, especially given the time of year.  Again, we always appreciate your loyalty and want to make sure you receive the best product possible.  Keep en eye on Mule.net as we will post updates here on the production timeframe as soon as they become available.

Just helping to spread the word about going to see GOOD bands and GOOD live music as often as possible!!!
